Fujipoly Ultra Extreme worth the cost?

I just purchased a used waterblock for my 290x to save some cash.

I need to purchase some (I do not know how much) thermal pads to install it.

Fujipoly Ultra Extreme seems to be the best, but it is very expensive. I'm looking at about $40 for 2 quarter sheets in .5mm and 1mm. For that price I would have to stack them in one place for the backplate (1.5mm) because it's too expensive to buy more. (non critical area).

Is it worth the cost difference over say some cheap ebay pad like this one?

Should I just get .5mm 60x60mm and layer it?
    http://www.frozencpu.com/products/17...pj5s&mv_pc=736

At $40 I would basically be paying full price for the block, but of course it would likely have better TIM where the pads go. Or if I can get away with just stacking the .5mm Maybe I should go that route?

    Thanks!

No idea - it would be interesting to do a thermal pad roundup lol. Plenty of TIM roundups out there, but never seen a pad roundup.

Those are the smallest amounts :P
I'm not even sure if 60x60mm would be enough for a whole video card, that's only 2.3"x2.3" and you have to cover memory and VRMs on both sides of the card. They don't have a medium size, and the next size up is well over $100 for a sheet.

I ended up just getting the Fujipoly extreme, it costs way less and you get twice as much. I was Just notified Frozen CPU was all out of the .5mm extreme stuff I ordered but they should have it within a month. I might have to buy some of that ebay stuff for temporary use since I don't want to wait another moneth to get the 290x under the water block.

A roundup would certainly be nice, but damn those thermal pads are expensive.

Why not just order the manufacture's thermal pads? Order some EK thermal pads even if the block is not EK. The difference it temp is probably like TIM, not a whole lot.

I didn't realize that was an option, where would I get that from?

scroll down. I bet Frozen has them too. Since they have your order on backorder you could cancel and get them from frozen.

Thanks!, oh wait... just checked my mail and the second shipment went out today so there will not be much of a delay. I would say that for the price those are not fujipoly, or at least not the extreme. I am starting to wonder how much the quality of the pads that ship with the GPUs actually make, especially in waterblock roundups. The thickness of the pad is probably most critical but if your using a pad that is twice as thick would it not still perform better if the pad had 4x the thermal performance? My guess is still no but they must make some difference!
