Swiftech H220X - Back in the AIO Game

I had my heart set on the kit from last year, but since they had to pull out of NA due to Asetek threating to sue, I cried a little. But now they are back with a vengeance. The pump is integrated to the radiator this time and the price remains at the same at $149.99 USD.

IMO, it looks amazing. If the kit performs and it doesn't have the QA issues like the H220, I am definitely going to pick this up for my rig.

Good for swiftech, but I still think $150 is a bit steep. I have no idea if it performs better than the H220, but there were aircoolers that performed just as good, if not better, at inaudible decible levels for half the price.

Just being realistic, these pre-built watercooling kits are more about bragging rights than actual performance these days.

H220 provided a decent improvement over the best air coolers for similar acoustics. Link

You must be talking about some corsair sets .
But your general statement is simply untrue . The H220 performs .

    This!

Those corsair/asetek often ship with a single 1x120mm radiator, this is not enough to properly cool a quadcore any better than high end air. Furthermore the blocks and pumps in most of them are crap. The swiftech kits always ship with a block based off their own apogee series (which has always been one of the best blocks) and a proper pump, and often with enough radiator to deal with the heat.

Sure they cost more than the competition, but they actually beat high end air.

No you're correct, I was entirely considering the reviews I'd seen about the latest Corsair sets. Idk I feel if you want to go water, may as well just spend an extra $50 to $100 and do it right.

Judging by the pics of the unit, it seems that the fans are only able to be used in a pull configuration. Not sure if I like the pump sticking out like a sore thumb. Gotta be a better way to implement. I would think a pump/resevoir combo in a 5.25 drive bay would be far better.

I never did get my H220 working again after the first week when it became incredibly noisy and shaky (fouled with bits of plastic from the factory). I wonder if RMAs in North America at this point would result in the new model.

The h220 never stopped selling in NA. It is being sold by Cooler Master now.

Hmmm AIO Liquid cooling is new trend in my country but

I think most people in my coutry buy AIO LC with 120x120 or 140x140 radiator.

It really doesn't matter where the pump is. Whatever temps the pump is dropping into the loop are going to be equalized throughout the fluid quickly anyways, especially once the CPU is under load and the pump is no longer the thing to worry about. Also those low quality pump/res combos tended to have a nasty habit where the pump cracked the res and leaked into your system. It's not ideal and it's certainly limited, but such is the price. IIRC swiftech had/has some kits where they just straight bolted the DDC to a radiator and slapped the fill port/res onto the radiator.

Then they should move back to air honestly. A single 1x 120mm radiator hasn't been enough to properly cool a CPU for some time now. Under 2x 120mm it's not worth the effort and can produce worse results than air cooling. Those 1x 120mm corsair kits are only so people can say they have liquid cooling, the premade kits are mostly to get people to try it and then buy a real kit down the line.

Check my sig. 5Ghz Ivy Bridge. Have had my Sandy Bridge at 4.5Ghz as well, so would have to wholly disagree with the statement above. Where they excel is in small cases where space is limited. I wouldn't even be able to fit an air cooler that is on par to my H80.

    At what temps/volts/etc?

Running my 2600K @ 2.6 with 1.45v on air, temps seem to stay near 60c loaded. Noctua NH-D14.

1.32v for the 2500K at 4.5Ghz, temps if I remember correctly were low 80s. For the i7 the volts are in my sig, load temps high 70s, mind you this one is delidded, I would have to downclock it to get acceptable temps otherwise. Still, not too bad at all.

They have to use the copper on those connections....those little tubes are for measuring pressure drop on a very expensive piece of equipment. You wouldn't tap them into a piece of plastic.
