    GTX 780 overclock thread

    searched, didn't find another thread.

anyhow, i have an evga superclocked 780 with the standard heatsink on it... very very slick looking heatsink. And I do kinda like that GEFORCE GTX logo that glows Anyone know how to adjust the LED's on this thing? I haven't seen anything inside of precision.

this thing overclocks like a beast! it kinda runs @ 1300mhz It was boosting between 1161 and 1201mhz during the valley benchmark. Scored 2560 @ 61.2fps at Extreme HD 1920x1080

what are you guys getting? Is my score even good? I'm sooooooo out of the loop on the current benchmarking scores.

update: scored 2736 w/core @1201mhz and ram @ 7.1ghz! crazy ram! looks like this benchmark is way easy on the ram

    update2: scored 2787 w/core @ 1241mhz and ram @ 7.1ghz. I'll keep updating this as i make progress.

update3: scored 2801 w/core @ 1241 and ram @ 7.3ghz... these ram speeds are insane... i kinda doubt that ram is that actually running at 7.3ghz. Anyhow here is a screenshot. It's not reporting my core speed accurately... its really @ 1241 and not 1415mhz

update4: same settings as update #3, but i finally got around to overclocking my 920 back up to 3.8ghz

I haven't messed with the clocks yet on mine and I'm hesitant to do so with only a 850watt psu. I did increase the power target but other than that nothing. I was running my 680s on a pretty aggressive fan curve so I'm not used to the load temperatures on these (the 680s wouldn't break 65) I suppose as long as the case temperatures don't get crazy its fine though. They are pretty quiet as far as SLI goes though

nice man! i'm thinking about getting another too. But, this ocz psu has massive coil whine. Completely unbearable, and very distracting. I think i'll get another 780 when my ax1200 gets here.

and yup all on the stock bios... is there another bios? This ram is really crazy though... i've never had a card that i could clock the ram up so high.

Guys i left you my score of Valley same settings as b0bd0le for you to compare, in theory 2 780 OCd should kill my score on this test but for ex a 3DM11 SLI of titans against mines are same points, so it varies a lot form test to test
Keep in mind im NOT in bench clocks this is stock

3x SLI of GALAXY GTX680 SOC stock 1306/7008

Try with "nvflash -b biosname.rom" command.

    Same issue here:

Is there a way to read and write the vBIOS on the 780 cards yet?

Can't get it to work :/

Tried via latest nvflash for DOS as well, same issue.

Running a EVGA 780 SC ACX.

Regarding the fact that the vBIOS is posted in the techpowerup vBIOS archive, it has to work (at least reading) in some way.

Same prob with nvflash -b biosname.rom

Unigine Valley is very CPU dependente. Heaven 4 is much better as a benchmark.

Alright, I will try, thanks for the link.

Is there a way to address the programmer behind nvflash as well?

Would be totally awesome to get a fixed nvflash for our 780 GTX cards.

Btw... my vRam works up to +700 in several Games, 3D Mark Vantage, Heaven 4.0 and Valley.

If I run 3d Mark 2011 I get artifacts almost instantly. I have to go down to +300 to make them go away.

Kinda crazy and hard to believe.

have you tried anything between 300 & 700?

i was able to get a fire strike extreme score of 5203 with mem @ 7.3ghz. My sweet spot is between 600~660 on mem and about 110 on gpu offset. fyi i have a superclocked so my gpu offsets are bumped up a bin or 2

and i know! i've never had ram that could overclock so well! that's including system ram!

Yeah, everything over +300 gives me artifacts (green and red lines) in 3DMark 2011. I can run +700 in all games and even Firestrike Extreme though - really weird.

My GPU does 1176 Mhz btw... no matter if I give 1,15V (default) or 1,2V.
