    New build for a friend

    Greetings all,

I am building a new system for my friend, problem it has been a while since i have actually looked into PC parts. He basically has a max of $1000 AUS to spend (we live in Australia). The smaller the build the better for him. He will basically only be using it on his TV, hence 1080p. This price is just for the tower.

    What can people recommend?

    Thanks for your help,
    Matt

Just games and movies. He has a max to spend of that, so the most bang for your buck, the better.

Best bang for the buck would be something like a 650 Ti Boost/660 and an AMD 6 core or Intel i5. IDK what site you guys shop at over there

He doesn't have a K-version CPU and don't see much difference between that board and, for example the B85:

Saves up to $35,- which he can put in a i5 4570 or a better GPU or SSD.

And since the OP stated 'the smaller the build the better', might have a look at these cases:

Something like the BitFenix Prodigy or Phantom is a lot smaller in size. Motherboard above, with B85 chip is also M-ATX just have to watch out that the GPU fits in.
