Any news about non reference 780ti releases? I am hoping that eVga will drop a classified card soon.

There is EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Superclocked w/ EVGA ACX Cooler only listed at EVGA site as auto notify

There is also confirmed rumor about some "super-mega enthusiast+" brand new card for early next year.

It is still reference. Just likely binned a bit better. Mine should be here tomorrow or Friday hopefully. The Classified shouldn't be more than a few weeks away more than likely.

Not sure if "reference" is the right description since it has completely different cooler and it's definitely OC edition.

Gainward has a custom 780 Ti including custom PCB on the way: http://www.techpowerup.com/195012/ga...i-phantom.html

It does look nice, just want them to make a 6GB version now so I can get one.

EVGA to launch GeForce GTX 780 Ti Kingpin Edition with 6GB RAM
EVGA is preparing the most powerful GeForce GTX 780 Ti on the market.
EVGA GTX 780 Ti KingPin Edition

GeForce GTX 780 TI KPE is something I heard about before the launch of the original GTX 780 Ti. Back then it was an acronym for Black Edition. KPE simply stands for KingPin Edition. Vince ?k|ngp|n? Lucido is an extreme overclocker known for breaking many world records in GPU performance. EVGA teamed up with him again to make a new product, which basically is a GeForce GTX 780 Ti on steroids.

What is so special about it? 6GB RAM, no TDP limit and unlocked voltage. That?s why it?s refereed as a ?new card?. At this point I don?t know if KPE is EVGA?s exclusive or is it actually a new model card from NVIDIA itself. Maybe that?s why we haven?t seen MSI?s GTX 780 Ti Lightning yet? Nevertheless, it?s good to see NVIDIA finally allowing AIBs to launch new models without pointless restrictions.

EVGA GTX 780 TI KingPin Edition will be released in December.

"GeForce GTX 780 Ti on steroids", is that even legal? What's next AMD on steroids?

The point is that reference PCB is used.

I do understand what 'lowfat' was trying to say, but it still does not make it reference card.

For example many including me, are waiting for non-reference R9 290X/290 with better cooling solution and I don't even care if it's going to be super-clocked or not as the subject EVGA card is.

The reference board is a reference board, it has the same design and limitations and the mild factory overclock is irreverent. To me a non reference board uses a special PCB with more memory and/or voltage control the reference board does not, strapping a aftermarket cooler to a reference board is debatable.

I am interested in the evga classified boards, I would be interested in these rumored black/kingpin/special 6/12GB cards that the rumor mill keeps leaking.

It about time Kingpin got a board named after him. He is one of the reasons Nvidia has typically dominated the HWBot scene. When kingpin was actually trying and before he did team work with team pure, he was consistently at the number 1 position. And he benches almost purely with Nvidia.

A combination of Kingpins pots and Shamino's volt mods when they are together are unbeatable. Give this team to team AMD and they would do way better on Hwbot.

Back in the early days, his AMD equivalent was Hipro5. However, hipro5 stopped and he didn't get that much consistent competition from anyone from team AMD. Andrei Yang was pretty dominant but he benched both.

No disrespect to Chew, but no one has been as dominant on hwbot or world records for GPU's as Vince and the length of time he spent at the top. The battles him and Hipro had at the time were epic and they were typically fighting for number 1 and 2. To get similar battles you had to go back in the early 2000 when Oppainter and Macci were competing. Kinc was part of the mix as well. But in general, your dealing with all legends here and their title on this website reflected that. After Oppainters and Macci's generation, it was typically Vince at the top for the longest time and Hipro5 his biggest rival.

I've picked up a Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti (reference pcb and cooler) the other day and went about testing the performance. Coming from a MSI GTX 780 (reference pcb and cooler) flashed with the Inno3d GTX 780 Ichill bios running 1150mhz max core and 6200mhz memory I went about running a couple of benchmarks and Metro Last Light at stock on the 780 Ti and I found that even at stock the performance a better in some and the same in others.

What amazed me the most is the performance increase when you start raising the clocks on the GTX 780 Ti and up to where I was able to increase the clocks on the stock air cooling. The core speed at stock vary between 1006 and 1020 and by that I mean the estimated max when checking with Nvinspector. I'm able to increase the core up to 1253mhz with the memory running 7600mhz for everyday use, but with a vgpu bump up to 1.138v, the card flashed with the slv7 bios and a little more aggressive fan profile. The maximum core speed I got with the vgpu set to 1.212v and fan at 100% is 1344mhz which only works in 3dmark03, 05, Valley, Fire Strike normal and extreme. 1305mhz works for Vantage and 1292mhz works for 3dmark11.

The following two Fire Strike runs was with a 4770K at 4700mhz and 2 x 8gb DDR 2400 memory.

I also have no disrespect to Chew, he was a friend and helped me a lot.

But that aside Chew mainly was doing AMD and Vince Nvidia/EVGA. Both of these guys are top notch !

These guys are at the top of their game and clearly talented, but persona branded PC hardware just seems weird and gimmicky.

so what about when psu makers put a jonnyguru stamp on it?
if this card is to his (kingpin's) expectation like some psu's are to jonny's, he should be able to have his stamp on it. especially since they requested him.

Its better to see these guys getting paid than Fatality. He has done nothing for hardware but overcommercial and over price products. If I see something with the Fatality brand, I will actively try to avoid it.

Overclocking stuff with Kingpins brand or Shamino's, I would approve of. I heard Shamino is retiring from overclocking which is sad to hear.

Trust me when I say that chew* is also well-known among many users of HWBot.
