...and the new project will be...

    MCM1 (Mapping Cancer Markers)
    Here some more info: http://www.cs.toronto.edu/~juris//MCM.htm
This might host the official WCG page soon: https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.or...m1/overview.do

I'm 99.8% sure about that Initial hint based on current Beta17 project files analysis...

With the lack of projects @WCG, this project will get hammered real quick. Folks looking for a new badge (ME ), as most new folks, can see this project finishing quickly. I already posted a note to kneed to warn the project managers to insure they have allot of hard drives to receive the uploads. Can't wait for the new project. I'm stoked.

Yes, you have a point. There's going to be a monkey-pile of people clamouring for the new work so the feeders are likely to be working overtime. It's been a long time since was running this few projects so people are likely to get a tad excited about the new entry.

This is where setting a bigger work buffer and size allowed for BOINC on the HD comes in handy. Ever since I upped my minimum and maximum buffer amount I haven't had any problems with WU supply.

Careful that you don't set the buffer too high. I think the max is 10 days, and there can be some issues with returning work on time with that large of queue. I don't know if improvements to BOINC's scheduler have solved/reduced these kinds of issues.
    I'd keep the buffer <1wk.

I usually run a short buffer (1 day plus one) which gives me room to bump it to try and grab beta units from time to time ... not that I have ever gotten that many. If I know there's going to be an outage I'll bump it to 1+3 but that's about it.

The site for MCM1 is updated now. Can't wait to start crunching.

And they made some changes to the wcg site too. Couldn't find the device manager where it used to be. Found it now.

The above will ask you to re-login... You can also click on m"My Projects" and then use the "Device manager" link located in the first para. This will not require you to re-login...

It seems they're still refining it, after doing a refresh on the page now I see the "Accumulated Points:" at the top now has a thousands separator again.

Change to fix problems is a good thing.

Change for change's sake is no better than letting the work experience kid loose with root credentials.
