I think you are close, but I guess it will do 47K.
Well considering I did a update manually at say 4:30am and not another till 12:20PM the numbers just might be better than you think..
I need something like the config file that sends the completed WU back as soon as they are done..

<cc_config>
<options>
<report_results_immediately>0</report_results_immediately>
<max_file_xfers>20</max_file_xfers>
<max_file_xfers_per_project>20</max_file_xfers_per_project>
</options>
</cc_config>
will probably help your rig..... report immediately should only be set to 1 if you insist on getting this ppd stuff sorted fast. set this level of max_file_xfers in normal use to get things done quicker when it does upload which it should do all by itself
I think it goes in /etc/boinc-client The file is named cc_config.xml
You can try using gedit from the terminal.... I forget if that folder will force you to use the terminal or not so maybe wait for one of the others to chip in on this.
Assuming it does, in terminal type:
sudo gedit /etc/boinc-client/cc_config.xml
enter your password and hit return
when gedit opens, copy and paste the file above and hit save.
close gedit
from manager make it read the config file

if you want to periodically monitor your temps with sensors command use
watch sensors
it will run sensors command every two seconds...
(and you can learn more about watch command with man watch )
(and you can learn more about man command with man man )
(and you can learn more about everything by going to /usr/share/doc/ and start reading )

Ok, here's some info for you guys to chew on:
I first started up this machine on Linux at app 6PM Friday night.
Say I got WCG running app 10 mins later after looking around a little to get at least a tiny feel for linux.
At 6AM today I broke 100,000BOINC or 700,000 WCG points.
Yea, 60 hours to 100,000 BOINC
That took me almost a week on the SR2 system with 2-X5680's at 4200MHz

We might have to get a custom compiled kernel into that beastie to wring the last few HP out of her.
What desktop environment did they give you, Dave?
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
Cinnamon, which is based on GNOME 3.0. I believe that stock Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon uses Cinnamon v. 1.6.7. I am pretty sure I did update Dave's Linux install so it may be Cinnamon 1.8 now. It's hard to remember after doing 5 installs, 4 of which were dual boots in the past month.
Desktop rigs:
Oysterhead- Intel i5-2320 CPU@3.0Ghz, Zalman 9500AT2, 8Gb Patriot 1333Mhz DDR3 RAM, 120Gb Kingston V200+ SSD, 1Tb Seagate HD, Linux Mint 17 Cinnamon 64 bit, LG 330W PSU
Flying Frog Brigade-Intel Xeon W3520@2.66Ghz, 6Gb Hynix 1066Mhz DDR3 RAM, 640Gb Hitachi HD, 512Mb GDDR5 AMD HD4870, Mac OSX 10.6.8/Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon dual boot
Laptop:
Colonel Claypool-Intel T6600 Core 2 Duo, 4Gb 1066Mhz DDR3 RAM, 1Gb GDDR3 Nvidia 230M,240Gb Edge SATA6 SSD, Windows 7 Home 64 bit
Have to bear that in mind. I use XFCE personally, both in Slackware and Mint. Might have to throw a Cinnamon install in a VM in case I'm Johnny on the spot for some help requests.
[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
I've heard good things about Linux Mint XFCE. When I looked into Mint, it seemed like a toss up between the two based on peoples recommendations and anectdotes. Cinnamon appeared to be a little bit easier to use from the majority of the Cinnamon proponents as compared to XFCE, but that was just my impression after reading umpteen posts about Cinnamon vs MATE vs XFCE vs blah blah blah. I will say that Cinnamon was much easier for me to grok than the wretched Unity interface in Ubuntu.
