    Heads up - CEP2

    I have had some "memory" and "disk space issues" with CEP2. I have cut down how many WUs each machine gets. Not only errors after 8-10 hours but keeping even GPU WUs from running.

    Seeing more frequent "Maximum disk usage exceeded" on current series

    Quad core with 4 gigs ram. running 2 CEP WUs.

    8 core 4 gigs ram 30 gigs free disk

    You maximum disk usage error won't be from the amount ACTUALLY free on the disk but will be related to the setting for disk usage in your preferences. Also, check your app_info file etc.

    I put the wrong number there. It is using less .30 gig out of 10gig allotted.

    From the Link
    Feel free to set BOINC to 1TB, if you have that... it makes zero zilch difference. As noted this is a job specified limit, each science having a different one. E.g. FAHV is limited to
    The warning was posted to say there seems to be problems with the current Wus as far as memory and disk space settings.

    Hmmm. Pest of things if that's the case. I'm only getting FAAH work right now. It's the only thing available to pure 64bit LInux. At least I'm getting something I suppose.

    I received 2 CEP2 yesterday and 3 today. Did not really want to cut back, 100 days to 6 years, but causing to much trouble so 1 per machine I guess.

    A thing a have used before was adding CEP2 to the app_config file. That way you can allow boinc to download plenty of wu's (if available) but the config file will limit the number of wu's that can be run at one time.
    Limiting the number of wu's in the device profile at wcgrid.com will allow boinc to only download new wu's when the first are finished. And the new ones will be place at the bottom of the cue.

    I had this in the app_config file.

    Code:
    <app_config>
    <app>
    <name>cep2</name>
    <max_concurrent>2</max_concurrent>
    </app>
    </app_config>
