It should work with the shipped bios. I'm using a Sabertooth R2 and my Bios is ver 803 and I think the latest is 2005. With the 9370 it works fine.

The latest CVF-Z bios is 1602, don't confuse it with the latest CVF bios which is 1703.

I had the exact same issue last week. For me the 1701, 1801, 1901 bioses all seem to have have memory timings and/or stability problems. The 1602 bios was much more stable. And the 1901 bios made it impossible to flash back to 1602 easily.

SIDE NOTE: I noticed that these three new bioses may have STOPPED reading the SPD timings for slower speeds. It always defaults to the slowest SPD timing the ram has in it. Which for my new AMD Radeon memory is 13-13-13... but was 11-11-11 for my Ripjaws. But even using DOCP or AMP or setting them all myself... these bios still seemed unstable.

I ended up having to use the USB flashback method to go back to 1602. This worked for me with no issues. (It's just a pain. And I was worried because the message the "normal' tools gave made it sound like it was impossible to flash back. But I couldn't handle the bad stability so I risked it.)

EDIT: BTW: I wonder if the newer bios now fail to read the timings... which include the secondary memory timings and the memory driving stuff also. In other words I think that if you use the newer bios and set all of the timings/driving settings yourself... it might be stable. But I'm just too lazy for that.

    its easy,
    1) rename your old BIOS at C5FZ.CAP (1602 version and manually rename it)
2)put this file to FAT32 USB flashdisk, the flashdisk must be empty! And after put it to the USB flashback port.
3)push the bios flashback button at motherboard (at IO parts) and wait until LED is blinking on (no starting PC or something simillar!)

BTW: The step #4 in the instructions leave out one minor detail. Okay a MAJOR detail.

You "shutdown" and have the computer turn off... but you DO leave the POWER supply switch turned on.

(In other words the system is in a state where if you hit the red "Start" button it would actually turn on. Just do NOT hit the start button... and continue with step #5.)

Or in OTHER other words... the motherboard has full power... it just is not "on".

    1) rename your old BIOS at C5FZ.CAP (1602 version and manually rename it)
2)put this file to FAT32 USB flashdisk, the flashdisk must be empty! And after put it to the USB flashback port.
3)push the bios flashback button at motherboard (at IO parts) and wait until LED is blinking on (no starting PC or something simillar!)
this is the clue you left me that worked.....

I LOVE the usb flashback. It has saved me several times.

Supposedly it will work even if you don't have a CPU in the slot... which means the entire flashback system is "stand alone" in hardware.
