    Supercomputing week?

The leaves are turning and starting to fall. Caramel apples, Halloween candy, and other assorted treats are on sale. The crisp autumn air invigorates with every breath. And yet, something is missing.......

Wait, what is it? It's supercomputing week!

So to the fearless leader/leaders I pose the question: When is supercomputing week?

I'd like to know because I have a dualie rig that I can potentially use if we are going to hold SC week soon. Also I might be able to fix one or two other computers and get them on for SC depending on when its held(and if my luck changes with one of them(dang money pit))

How about Nov.1-Nov.7, like the last SC I remember?

Maybe a tad too soon for some though.

I will be visiting my family back in Illinois the last week of November, so the week of Nov 24-30th is out for me. Unless I can figure out how to work that remote desktop doodad for Linux.

    Sounds good to me.

Take all the time you need. There are far more important things than SC week.

There is an old quad core xeon something or other here at the office I could probably borg for a short while, along with a couple Core 2 boxes. Not much but every little bit helps for the SC week.

<shifty eyes> I really need to stay away from Microcenter as my wallet took a huge hit last month, but... <twitch> I wonder if they have any hot combo deals going on <wallet screams> OK I shouldn't... <twitch>

It doesn't matter much to me at all, except for Thanksgiving week. Very good chance my main PC will be off half the time that week.

You mean like the 4770K+ASRock Pro 4 board for 393 with an additional $30-50 off?

Linux is likely the last in a whole series of benches, most of which will be done to satisfy the contractual requirements of borrowing the cpu's in the first place.... and before you wonder about such contracts we are talking here about those where a hand is shaken or a man's word is given.

I would consider myself one of the most interested in how things pan out when running Linux... I just hope these pretties, um cpu's, are with Dave long enough for us all to see the wonder.

Here in UK, the lottery gives me an outside chance of getting a pair of these. If I were to get a substantial win, every regular cruncher here would be offered a pair too.
