    Power Requirment Question

    Hey,

I have an x-power 450W powersupply. I know it's a pretty bad PSU but i'm not planning on running to much on it.

My question is whats the chances it could power the following without any problems,

    Intel Celeron D 360 65W

    2GB DDR2 PC5400 Ram

    1 IDE HDD

    8800GT 256MB

I don't have any cd drives oor any other fans except the CPU HSF. This power supply only has 1 12V Rail pushing 18A through it, Would this suffice for this? I know normally no but i figured i'm running a weak cpu and hardly anything else. Any help would be appreciated

Jesus thats old.... I would say that its not like you have a powerful system, but 18A on the 12v rails, it doesnt seem like a lot, cant remember how much this card needed, is pretty old yeah, but I would check the wattage left going throw the 12 volts rail, on the PSU... my guess is around 350w+?? anything below 200w on the 12 volts and I would not use it.. just my opinion..

How would i be able to check what wattage is left on the 12v rail? I read someone that the 8800gt uses around 130W and around 10A on it's own.

Does it not tell you on the information of the sticker on the PSU itself? if all the card needs is 10A with less than 150w then it will be fine mate..
