    D-Tek 1366 Mounting Issues

Ive been struggling with the 1366 Mounting Hardware provided by D-Tec for a while.

I read up on Vapor's thread, but the extra washers/mounting pressure didn't work

The issue appears to be with the assembly screws being to tall, interfering with the CPU retention and not allowing the block surface to make contact.

In Vapor's thread (2nd page), there was mention of different screws needed. Can someone confirm THESE are the screws?

    Thanks.

I dug out my old D-Tek Fusion V2. Those screws do appear to be the right ones. With the 1366 brace mounted the heads don't protrude past the base plate.

Here's a pic. You be the judge

Here is an alternative mounting method.

Thanks. I actually used some screws from a dead hard drive (same threads and very flat), but that wasnt the only issue... The brackage was also hitting the CPU retention plate . I had to flip it upside down and am now looking for a way to mount it. Moboard is a Rampage II Extreme btw.

Thanks man, Ill look into this. I want to keep the springs as Im not a big fan of hard mounts but will def look into it. With the bracket flipped, Ill needs some shorter springs.

Found some shorter springs. Idle temps went from 50's to 30's and load temps when from 80's to 50's. Whew, glad I got that figured out.
