    SFF-8087 Cable for LSI 9261-8i

I am trying to find an SFF-8087 to 4xSATA cable that supports 6Gb/s SATA speeds to use on a LSI 9261-8i.

Will this cable work? It says it supports 10Gbps speed but does this mean 10Gbps per port or 10Gbps total for the whole cable or what? I have never seen a SATA/SAS cable rated at 10Gb/s.

    Thanks for the help!

    Yip that should work.

Beware there is a cable that looks identical but works in reverse (4x SATA to 1x SAS) don't get this

Right, the SFF-8087 to 4xSATA is called a "forward breakout" correct? That is the one I want to connect 4 SATA drives to my LSI 9260-8i.

So whats with the 10Gbps rating? Is this cable really rated at 10Gb/s for each individual SATA port? I have never seen that before. Wouldn't a cable normally be rated at 3Gb/s or 6Gb/s to correspond to SATAII or SATAIII speeds? I just want to make sure I get a cable that supports full 6Gb/s speeds for each drive.
