    So need for or any sort of glue around the edges of the IHS? How are you certain the IHS is back in the proper placement? Seems like the IHS would shift and move quite easily after being mounted under any sort of heatsink.

    No glue, the IHS will stay in place, hold by the socket braquet.

    Yep. That was my worry as well but the bracket on the socket holds it very well. The IHS will even stay in place somewhat ok if you later take the CPU out again because it has been smashed into one place for so long.

    Looks like a lot of CLU in that vid though. Maybe its not though, could just be how it looks from this end

    After playing quite a bit with these paste, this tiny bulb spread accross the die is the best application. Too little and you end up with dead spot and 1 ore more core peaking at 10-15?c more than the other. You cant apply too much with these paste, its so liquid ... too much will just dripp all over the die. I usually found a tiny bubble next to the die when i unmount but nothing that can move and cause trouble. A tiny too much is better than not enough.
