As a long-time Mortal Kombat fan, I can honestly say that I really enjoy this game! This is definitely the best post-realism MK title in the series. I play this game on my HTPC which does not have a GPU (only that of the CPU, a discrete-GPUless setup), and was able to arrive at settings that maintain a good visual quality and also run at 60 frames per second. Of course, first, I had to edit the two config files in order to actually boot into the game.

All-in-all, MKKE is definitely worth the purchase, and doggone, it's only $29.99 and on sale often! If you're still on the fence about this game, get off that fence and get your behind on Steam to purchase and download this great game!

Anyone else out there playing this game on an HTPC or laptop build/setup without a GPU (video card)?

I'm playing it with a graphics card, and soon in overkill mode with two GPUs

Two GPUs on this game is not even necessary, lol. All you need is 60 fps!

I know, 2 GPUs isnt neccessary for any game for me, but I wanted them for the fun of it. And this is the game I'm playing the most atm. Hopefully Rome II will use my graphics more.

What controller are you using for MKKE? I tried using an xbox 360 controller for PC (bought the controller for games such as this), and it turns out that the d-pad is downright awful for fighting games. The d-pad is a circle, not separate directional buttons like the glorious PlayStation controller. So, I ordered a PlayStation 2 controller and USB converter for more precise directional input. When it gets here, I expect a much better gameplay experience.

I'm using the Xbox 360 controller too. It was completely rubbish for SSF4 and I couldn't play that very well, but Mortal Kombat is much simpler for pulling off the special moves and easier to play on it.

I was considering buying a fight stick, but couldn't be bothered at the time just for one game.

I also played AoEO too for a while, but I prefer Civ and Total War too much more.
