"Samsung says it began providing the XP941 to major notebook makers earlier this quarter, and that it is available in 512GB, 256GB, and 128GB capacities. The PCIe-based solution obliterates SSDs based on the ?old? SATA 6Gb/s interface, and Samsung promises sequential read performance of up to 1,400 MB per second."

This is more of a news item than anything but maybe it'll kick off some discussion about the new M.2 drives/form. Looking pretty damn ferocious to me, esp from such a cute, innocent little PCB...lol. It's good to see Samsung breaking out a PCI grade controller...so used to seeing peeps raiding sata 6 for PCI level speeds. LSI/SandForce also rumored to be working a next gen controller to hit 1.8GB/s. No doubt we'll see sata express drives using these new controllers once the Z97/X99 chipsets launch next year but I think we'll be seeing plenty of the same using a PCI adapter any time now. Looks like they're targeting the x4 slot, which is in abundance in most cases. All that being said, lets hope prices are semi-reasonable.
