Quad-socket G34 board. Since 12c low-volt chips are quite cheap..

    More boys toys

    Anyone feeling really ambitious?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUPERMICRO...item27d4b1822e

8 x dual cpu nodes in one box. Locally this is about half price

So, all you will need is 16 E5-26xx cpu's a bit of ram and an HDD or two

    http://www.supermicro.com/products/s...f617r3-ft_.cfm

When you think that you are getting 8 Motherboards, 2 power supplies and a chassis (of sorts) this is a great way to get crunching

Does hardforum dislike Newegg or something? Almost every time I follow a link there they have this popup on their page that wants me to try a plugin for my browser to find stuff on Amazon instead.

Hmm, not seeing the Amazon popup. Must be my Ghostery browser app and/or the firewalls.

I have no idea. I block most all pop-ups from every site.

I think you can only use dual CPU?

Why would they make a board that supports 3 CPU but CPU doesn't Support more than dual?

Someone explain "custom Hypertransport ccNUMA ASIC"

There's a third chip, a special "3leaf" one, that goes in the third socket. The board is from a batch custom built for the 3leaf company that has since gone bankrupt. Exactly what that third processor does I have no idea.
