bbse is just rockin out hard on the OCF. once its volt dialed, its super easy to tweak for efficiency

You don't have any PSC to test, do you?

    *edit*

just playing around now... not really trying to accomplish anything but a little zing. i can probably push them higher (2700ish) but i dont want to loosen up to do it.

Sorry for out of topic, but I have an asrock z87e itx that has a bug in bios. Even if I change the multiplier it doesn't overclock my 4670k. Only from WindOws using the a tuning utility. Can anyone provide a newer bios than 1.40. Thanks in advance.

Did you leave speed step and turbo enabled? Its necessary.

some tips here for the memory overclocking

    1. Dram boot voltage & Dram eventual voltage:

Some module doesn't like too higher voltage during code training . For example : Hynix 1.74volt passed , 1.78volt failed

But u need 1.78 volt to enter os at certain frequency . Then u can set dram boot voltage = 1.74 , dram eventual voltage = 1.78.

It will help you to pass the training and also go into os without any problem.

    2. Boot bclk & Eventual Bclk : it is working same as dram boot & eventual . especially great helpful of maximum memory clocking

    3. Trdrd is the key of memory performance . Try to keep this one as 4 , even u have to loose others . U will gain more than what u lose .

    4. Memory training threshold : This is the special option by Asrock Z87(M) OCF only .

The value of clock is reference by the memory clock which u are aiming .

you can keep auto from 1333 ~3400 Mhz .

But if you try to max out the memory mhz >3400~4400 , u can try to put it from 14~16 . It might do a little bit help .

    5. System agent & IO digital & IO analog : each of them has auto rule already.

If u want to put it by urself . System agent maximum value < +0.5 , IO digital <= +0.3 , IO analog <= +0.25

IO digital & IO analog helps maximum memory clock .

So .. boot is for code training , eventual is for booting into os .

Simple and easy .. enjoy it !!

    Nick,

Can you please clarify the twrrddr and twrrdw (memtweakit shows my subs as 3)

when setting to 2, the board will not post
when setting to 1, its slower than 4 or 3
when setting to 3, its faster than 4

what is the lowest value I can set? is there a bug with 2?

u can keep this one as auto . and see what value be given

In Z87 . Some timings cant be too tight . it will get slower .

About the bug of 2 . Maybe just doesnt accept 2 under the sort of timing combination .

ahh that answers my question sort of. so 1 IS a valid value, its just slower.

I would like to add.. when I got trfc 88 stabilized, its because I lowered the VTT DDR voltage. took auto value, keyed it in and went down 1 tick. helped me a ton. was most definitely the difference between pass and fail.

    DDR Initial - 1.8965
    DDR Final - 1.9030
    1MHz
    VTT DDR - 0.944

hopes this helps some clockers out there.

What vtt ddr volt make you failed ? with DDR final 1.9 volt

Auto value is 0.949 and its fail. setting .944 let me pull in trfc to 88

for trfc 86, it was achievable by tweaking this value further

    DDR V Final - 1.9095
    DDR VTT - 0.939

This seems to go by the old rule ive been following for DDR VTT.

DDR V x .5 as intel guideline states is best is not optimal. better ratio is DDR V x .495~.490 depending on what the memory likes.

ya my auto rule will give 1/2 vdimm volt

your bbse is amazing ... nice kits !! and good run

any improvement after u put bbse on Z87 OCF which compares to other brand ?

i got trdrd to 4 yesterday and helped a bit... my mem is weird... 1.845v is best for stability and ddr vtt as always 0.8v
1300 8-11-7-22-72 twcl 6 worked like a charm. i need to pass mem training at low cache speed and boost it in the second boot, all this with the original bios
