Asrock z87m oc formula ordered. From what I see this board brings the "wow" factor from Dfi ultraD days! New 4670k incoming (my previous one is a terrible chip that needs 1.38v @ 4.5Ghz to be stable even delided). Got some Kingston HyperX 2400 mhz cl11, any info on which chips do they have or any prediction about overclockability?

it should be easy to do 3600 at least , unless ur cpu imc has problem.
Thanks Nick, so I was right with my settings except the internal graphics... is that such a big difference?
I have to look for a Hdmi monitor first :-P

Ok... when you said PCIe and IGP makes not such a huge difference...
I can exclude the RAM because of a very small distance between 32M and Vali. So it seems I have the worst retail on IMC ever? Bad luck as always
I will test an 4770K QDE4... even if the CPU was very buggy on IO voltage...

QDE4 is B0 cpu , this cpu has lots bugs and IMC is not good as C0

i suggest that you can still search C0 chips

Ok... so would you give the retail another try with IGP with all the facts I told you?

Thanks for your help Nick, really appreciated!

running PSC on this chip/air is a pain ,if i rise vccin above 1.95v it starts to corrupt OS
passed 32m few times @vccin 1.85v but on the next reboot it was all gone

with raising input voltage from 1.74 to 1.90 i can reduce the vcore from 1.240 to 1.220 (for 4.5GHz CPU, 4.2 GHz Uncore). Testing Prime95 (26.6)
But the sync between cache voltage and input voltage seems to be wrong, so can't get 640K test in Prime.
An ideas hwo to stable that?
Can anyone confirm 640K test works for cache voltage and 800K for input voltage?

maybe u have to adjust IOA , IOD , system agent also ?

Sorry i never tried such kind of full loading 24/7 here

I only have spare time to try Hyperpi32M stable or not

Benching DDR-3400Mhz tips here . I know lots people want to do high-speed memory OC

    1. Not every cpu can overclock to DDR-3400 on air cooling

    2. Hynix batch 21x ~25x like voltage , it is much easier to reach 3400 Mhz with those IC

    3. after u have good CPU and good Stick . please try ur module on each dimm slot .

Memory module has it "own favorite slot" to do high-frequency .

Same dimm slot is not working on every sticks . But it still have common rule . Dimm 3(yellow outer) is the avg best one and Dimm 1 (yellow inner) is second place.

I'm benching at this very moment, and I'm wondering if there is anyone else who doesn't see the correct voltage within Windows? I'm at 1.8vcore, and I see 1.152v using cpu-z 1.65.0. I'm not quite sure what's up. In other news, my chip seems to be pretty bad.

If you use adaptive power or offset it will just show base vcore not what you have added.

    Or are you talking vccin?

I was talking the actual vcore (core0), but I think it was a cpu-z issue. I rolled back to 1.64.2 and it shows properly now. Thanks!
