    New SandForce on the way...

Looks like LSI has a smoker on deck...a SFF-8639 based SF-3000 (aka Griffin). 1.8GB/s reads and writes at 200,000 IOPs

More on upcoming SF...Adata are first at bat:

    Here

    Can't wait for more...

    SFF-8639 is the interface :

The interface chosen for the SX2000 is the SFF-8639 which is a new 12Gbps interface

The controller should be SF-3000 or "Griffin" or any other name they decide to give :

Our conversation with ADATA added a bit of mystery to the visit as they confirmed that the controller is a LSI controller and, although SF-3000 was mentioned once or twice, we were told that a final name convention has not been set and the flash storage processor is known by the name of ?Griffin?.

Looks like Marvell isn't standing still...they're soon to release the 88SS9183 controller. 770MB/s read and 550MB/s write speeds and 100K IOP capable. Things are definitely heating back up in the ssd world...bring it!

Gentlemen it has been brought to my attention that this thread is getting way off topic and I hope that it can get back in line with out anymore trouble.
It looks like Highendtoys has deleted many posts which is a good thing as I can read them.

Lets hope this can end with that and go back on topic with out further problems.

    Thank you all for understanding.
All of you bring a great deal of expert information to this section & XS and we thank you for that.

    Thanks again
