    3770k/4770k

look around for mobo and ram that comes down to alot of choices and options that really only you could pick out. (Corsair vengeance 16gb cl9 1600? you have that? just reuse for intel build, ram speed doesnt matter much after 1600 for gaming only synthetic benchmarks)

i just always go by this rule when picking a mobo, "you get what you pay for" if its cheap its cheap for a reason.

hey thanks for the reply so there isnt any difference for games between 6 core and 8 core? are they identicle in performance in games?

and the mother board all i need is pciex16 x2 running bith at 16 channels and 1800mhz bus speed and one that allows overclocking, as i have no experience in intel i would be inclined to buy the most expensive 1 but is there a mid range board that would do the above requirements?

    thanks

hey thanks for the reply so there isnt any difference for games between 4 6 core and 8 cores with intel? are they identicle in performance in games? also what is the differnce between these 4 core cpus you linked they look to have the same specs except 1 has slightly less max tdp

and are you saying that a Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Hex Core Sandy Bri or Intel? Core™ i7-4960X Processor Extreme Edition
(15M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz) wouldnt be faster for games than 3770k 4770k??

money is not a factor in choosing i simpley want to build the fast rig for games period

and the mother board all i need is pciex16 x2 running bith at 16 channels and 1800mhz bus speed and one that allows overclocking, as i have no experience in intel i would be inclined to buy the most expensive 1 but is there a mid range board that would do the above requirements?

sorry bout the double post went cross eyed while trying to edit :<

If you only play BF 4, 4960x is the one for multiplayer. BF 4 scales good in mp with 6 cores.

When i aggree with you, the 4930K is more affordable, the difference with the x version is not really enough for justify the price for gaming. ( and for peoples who have doubt about it, yes BF4 scale on the 12 threads... )

The topic is "Best Intel CPU for gaming", and this is XS

For the average people, 4930k is the best. Eventually 3930k, because it tend to overclock higher. 47-48 vs 51-52 on water.

i do fully agree with this statment.

but in most games other than bf4 4770k is better or the same at 2/3 the price. i got mine because I WCG with this cpu and need the threads.
