    Change settings in your BCM/IPMI?

    Hello,

A while back I stumbled across information on the interwebs of people mucking around with the BCM on their server motherboards to quiet them down a bit for home use, it linked off to an "official" site that had software to do it with. At the time I thought it was interesting but entirely pointless for my use. Well... now I need to know how to go about it and I'm curious if anyone knows what I am talking about. I can't seem to find the information again.

I think the gist of what they were doing is they were modifying it hardware level so the fans never ramped up and they could use aftermarket fans without the minimum RPM warnings.

I've asked for a needle in a haystack and you sir have given it to me.

I can't thank you enough for this, this is the EXACT thread I was so vaguely referring to.
