This is the problem AMD faces. I think that even if they put out a chip that was the exact equal of intel's product at every metric people would still buy intel because of all the fail with Phenoms and Bulldozers. (at least fail in public opinion- I don't know that you can call building the second best CPUs in the world "failing")

Intel would outsell AMD simply because they have better brand recognition, it is similar to the famous old quote of "Nobody got fired for buying IBM". Average Joe usually doesn't know or care about each company real track record, so I doubt any non-enthusiasts that just want the computer to work cares, for as long as it does its job. So they will usually stick to the brand that is more recognized, unless they have had a bad enough experience to make them refuse to buy it again and try something else.
While AMD had lackluster launchs in the last years against Intel execution that has been almost flawless from Conroe in the 2006, you should also remember that at a time, AMD was mopping the floor with Intel, yet while enthusiats favoured AMD, the rest of the world was still mainly Intel. The Pentium 4 was a marketing success, yet only with Northwood they manage to outperform Athlon XP albeit at around twice the cost or more. Wasn't that a fail? Yet I didn't see people NOT purchasing Core 2 Duos for that. Say thanks to the brainwashing of the MHz Myth of that era and Intel simply boycotting AMD by making exclusibility deals with some of their potential customers. Oh, and direct hits to AMD reputation that hurted them for YEARS when Intel used to buy Tom's Hardware reviews with things like this, that even during 2005-2006 I was still hearing people not recommending AMD because they "have temperature issues and may burn".
And actually, AMD marketing was quite good with Bulldozer, as I saw many more on the street that they deserve. The 8 Core thing and MHz advantage worked well here. That's what Joe Average still looks for, it seems.

I think, L1 size could be part of problem Bulldozer and Vishera. Bandwith is good, but after L1 to L2 and L2 to L3 latency ...This is next problem. And L1 was very small.

I wouldn't put the blame in any way on the public. In the months leading up to phenom and bulldozer's release, AMD engaged in marketing blitz that was at a minimum very deceptive, and in many people's view... flat out lies. What astonished me was how subdued the reaction was by tech journalist and fanboy alike. I would have expected them to thoroughly rake AMD over the coals in the same way they'd do if Intel did the same thing.

It's a tough position to be in. (for AMD marketing) You can't generate excitement in the enthusiast community by saying "We have new chip coming with mediocre gaming performance, and some really good performance on a few highly threaded office apps".
Yet that's what they had, and it was their job to sell it. Not a great position to be in.

Its my opinion amd has never been in as good a marketing standpoint as they are right this second. Now would be the perfect time to pull the trigger on whatever pistol they are concealing. Right now every gamer on the planet (exaggerating here) now knows that amd is powering all three of the largest consoles, we now know amd makes the best apu on the planet, amd now makes the best low powered apu for accelerated devices. Amd is ati and radeon is now brand recognition for amd. Amd holds more of the graphics market share than nvidia. Amd is positioning themselves very very well in the gaming market
I can relate to what you are saying but gut feelings and real market numbers just haven't lined up at this point. There have been numerous times where the feeling is things are going one way but when the numbers come out its simply not the case.
As for total gpu marketshare AMD is ahead of Nvidia by 2.2%, thats dismal considering Nvidia is discrete only while AMD's share includes discrete, IGP & APU's.
If anything AMD's greatest shortcoming is their marketing and brand acceptance as a desirable product, they have a sound product but a vast majority of consumers prefer other brands as far as PC hardware is concerned.
AMD's glory days was the s754 and s939 platforms, they where gaining momentum fast but when they didn't have adequate next gen cpus or quad cores ready to counter competing products they fell pretty hard from grace.

Jerry Sanders can reminisce with friends over a nice scotch about Athlon, Athlon X2, etc, but not Rory Read. AMD has produced some good processors in the past, but that isn't going to matter much now. They have to produce something better then they have, and market it more effectively to a new generation.

Yeah this is only one module sans the L2 cache. It's very hard to make such a good fake I must say. So either it's a real thing or it's an amazingly well made fake (module) die shot.
The changes are radical in many parts of the core, in such a way that AMD practically doubled both integer and fp execution resources, decoders (known from HC), data chaches, massively increased Instr. cache size, etc. Could this one module be actually a 2C/4T machine?

IPC is not the problem how do you mean it....x87 IPC is something ddifferent (and this issue you mean probably). Some rpoblems are latency in big caches, one short FP...

I recently read article about Jaguar. It might be inspiration for SR due cache placement. You know, evolution of engineering an architecture.
