    New *Black* Koolance Quick Disconnects

Our no-spill quick disconnects are now available in long-awaited black! We're starting with the most popular 13 models from the newest QD3/QD4 series. These are (RoHS-compliant) black chrome plated, rather than our usual nickel plating.

Looks sweet. How does the finish hold up?

This is disappointing as I honestly just bought three 6 sets of QD3s

Those do look pretty sweet. But the better question is: Do the plungers stick as much as the old "silver" ones? [But I'm also curious about the durability of the finish as well.]

    Finally.
I am very glad that the coating is black chrome.
Strength of the layer should be much higher than in the case of black Bitspower QDC.

So sexy. Now I want to go and replace all my VL4N QDCs

I still need to wrap up my review properly of the nickel version of these, but I've been waiting to take my workstation apart as I need the VL3Ns for comparison. Here's some prelim flow numbers though:

At last some QDC comparisons! Stren, any plans to test other brand QDC's (new Swiftech, Bitspower)?

Yeah I asked swiftech a while back and they said that they had manufacturing delays so couldn't ship any yet. I should follow up again. The BP ones look suspiciously like the old VLXN series, but I'll ask Vincent when he gets back to me about the Titan block.

The coating is about as good as the black paint we use on our other fittings. Nickel will still be a little more durable, so more care is needed in handling black fittings and quick disconnects.
