Do I have to pull the heatsinks off to determine memory manufacturer?

Other than pulling off the heatsinks to determine whether it's Hynix, Micron, Samsung, etc. Or is there a listing? Trying to unload this kit. Thanx:

ver3.1 means they're Micron, either D9GTS or D9GTR, most likely D9GTR. Please don't try to remove the heatspreader on these sticks, you'll kill them very very easily.

Thank's for the info! I had no intentions of pulling them off. I would have kept the kit had I been able to find another one but I had no luck so off to ebay it goes.

Is there a way to find out the history on this set? I'm guessing these where binned. IIRC this kit cost me some serious coin on newegg back in the day.

At the time they were released, that was a pretty good set of ram. Now 2x1GB kits don't command too much, so don't be surprised if you only get back a small % of your original purchase price.
In memory of Gracie, my sweet, sweet wife and mother of my children. Darling, we will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace (born to this world on March 30, 1976; went to her Heavenly Father on Good Friday, April 22, 2011).

I expect this but I'll hype it up as much as I can. The fact that it's in it's original packaging and the fan that was never used might help.

I don't see it listed here. Is there another site to validate that it's Micron D9GTR

No other ICs of the period can do this spec and Corsair have never used anything else on 1800C7 Dominators. Is this enough "validation"?

D9GTR used to be "the stuff" for s775 and AM3 benching, but it turned out that Hypers also work on those platforms quite well meaning D9GTR is pretty much obsolete, sadly.
