As it turns out, the fan in the 7870 Myst is extremely fail. As I discovered, if anything even slightly comes in contact with the fan, the fan just ceases to exist.
Any fan experts know what a compatible replacement that I can order would be (as in, a $5 fan, not an $80 mod heatsink)?
Alternatively, anyone happen to have an extra fan and/or heatsink+fan assembly after putting on a waterblock or better cooler? Can't find a replacement fan and the selection of reasonably priced custom coolers is less than stellar for this card.
EDIT: I completely fail at life and put this in the nvidia forum, can it be moved to AMD/ATI?
