Is it adviced to upgrade to ATI Crossfire?

I have 1 of this card, and may consider getting another to run crossfire
    http://www.komplett.no/sapphire-rade...b-gddr5/759805

But how is crossfire these days? Does both cards work in 'all' games? And how much of a heat problem may I build up?
I have a Corsair Obsidian 550D box with a Corsair H80i Hydro cooler blowing the hot air out.

Would love to get some advice on this. Earlier I know microstutter was a big problem, and some games either buged with Crossfire, or can no use crossfire.

My PSU is a Silverpower 850w, if I am not wrong that should be good enough for crossfire...

Should be easy enough for crossfire. Your best bet would be to sell the 7970 and get a R9 290 would run alot smoother and use less power.

It would also be slower. 7970 in crossfire is consistantly faster then even the R9 290X.

if you have a 7970 i think it is very logical to go crossfire with another 7970 or 280x.

When i'm being paid i always do my job through.

    Actually, I can also crossfire the 7970 with a R9 280x (actually a 'redone' 7970).

Have a long list of cards to choose from, which one would you guys advice to get if I go for it?

My guess is one of the custome Sapphire ones...

I have never run crossfire before, any advices? I know they need to run at same speeds, so will default to the slowest one when crossfire. But both cards can be OCed individually right? And I can also set the speeds for the fans individually?

Crossfire has gotten alot better. Heat really depends on your cases airflow and the PCIe spacing on your motherboard. A nice gap between cards does wonders, trust me.

I have tried to get info in the official thread for my mobo about heat/spaceing, but that thread is pretty dead
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-Thread/page30

When I am playing games that both taxes the CPU and the (single card 7970) GPU, my CPU temp is at about 58-63 degrees celcius, the GPU card temp is at about 70-83 degrees celcius. Both reported my Aida64 ingame/real time via Logitech LCD keyboard display. I can set some of the fans to higher speed, but do not want to make it too loud. At these temps the GPU fan is locked at 55 or 60% speed, do not remember right now, think it is 60. The 2 fans on the Hydro cooler that blows the air out in the back, can be set higher, but will become a bit noisy.

My big side fan is now blowing in, but can be turne to blow out, but if so I am a bit afraid I will get underpressure in the case.

So I am not sure how much the temps will go up if I add a x280 card, and run crossfire...
