    JunPus D9000 & DX1 - diamond thermal greases minireview

Recently, I was offered to test a pair of thermal greases from a new player in the market, the Taiwanese company JunPus. Few days ago samples arrived in the mailbox, so nothing could stop me to verify their capabilities.

Pastes marked D9000 and DX1 are delivered in a classic clear plastic blister pack, which includes a spatula for spreading. Package includes a total of 3 grams each time the thermal paste with addition of diamond nanoparticles and to achieve the best thermal conductivity. Both pastes do not require seasoning, are electrically non-conductive, does not cause corrosion and should retain its properties for up to 4 years.

Compound DX1 is doing very well with spreadability. I included it to those less dense (similar to MX2), her application was a breeze with a spatula. D9000 was much denser and more sticking to supplied spatula. When spreading here and there and ripped, but eventually I also managed to apply a continuous layer.

The entire test assembly was mounted on an Intel Core i7 3770K overclocked to 4700 MHz frequency, 2400 MHz Memory HyperX Predator from Kingston and motherboard Z77A-GD65 GAMING from MSI . Schythe Yasya cooler (with 1600RPM fan) had to deal with voltage 1.35 V in the generated load test by OCCT (64bit, Linpack, Large Data Set) for two hours. For more information value I still incorporate into review another paste GC-3 Extreme by Gelid, which is one of the best on the market and common Arctic Silver C?ramique 2.

Now I get around to what will interest you most, and thus the measured temperature. Idle CPU temperature oscilates on cores between 30 to about 40 degrees Celsius. Featuring an exact value because it would be misleading, because it would rather reflected overhead of operating system than the quality of the thermal greases itself. The temperature in the load, however, can already show a good picture.

The measured maximum temperature (Core 1-4 / average):

    JunPus DX1 - 88, 94, 91, 86 ? C / 89.75 ? C
    JunPus D9000 - 87, 93, 90, 85 ? C / 88.75 ? C
    Gelida GC-3 Extreme - 88, 93, 90, 86 ? C / 89.25 ? C
    Arctic Silver C?ramique 2 – 95, 100, 96, 94 ?C / 96,25 ?C

From the measured results, it is clear that among the tested pastes no significant differences. Then the conclusion is clear - DX1 and paste JunPus D9000 is really good. In the picture below you can still judge the structure tested paste DX1 (left) and D900 (right). Maybe a good choice for extreme overclocking? :-)

JunPus sells D9000 for $10 and DX1 for $12. Compared with competitors set prices are reasonable.
