Either Corsair do not fully stick to their version scheme (I've seen ver8.2 "Nanya" sticks clock suspiciously like PSC before) or there indeed exist Elpida 2Gbit chips capable of 2666 (best Elpida 2Gbit result I've seen so far is this by websmile) that I don't know about.

You might get a hint if you look at the ICs from the side, if these have white stripes underneath ic on the side that is towards the pcb, these will be most likely Elpidas - not as good as removing heatspreaders, but Dominator heatspreaders are really hard to get off

Edit Wow, this guy Morpheus Johnson is flooding ebay with mems - so sad ebay illegally wants import charges from me because I most likely will pay customs anyway

Nope we fully stick to our version scheme. Yes there are Elpida 2Gb chips that can do 2666, however they may not be 100% stable or may have other issues. Also that result you posted would be 1Gb ICs.

Also Hyper, BBSE, PSC should clock very similar because they are all based on the same design. The only difference was who produced them.

So when is it anticipated that actual DDR4 products will hit the retail market?
