Yeah, best to keep it to yourself until after the auction finishes unless you want to start a bidding war. In the latter case only the Seller is going to come out of that looking good.

I think Sam did wrong when he started this thread because many OC'ers want to buy good memory kit and all know that G.Skill Pi series it's the best choise. So they saw this topic and do bid at e-bay )) But after bidding they see that you've been outbid and do bid, bin and bid again )
Well, the thread is somewhat of a double-edged sword, it helps you find the good ram...but it let's everyone else know about it, too.
I don't buy much ram thru eBay so it doesn't affect my buying, however, I do enjoy checking in and seeing what kind of goodies Sam finds therefore I would be happy to see him continue to post.

How good really is the low-binned PSC from G.Skill? Worth picking up or look for something better?

thats probably t-series, also most black pcb psc has been not so hot.
the low bin blue ripjaws kit 1600 7-8-7 kits if old enough are good. Have 6 sticks of XDT psc chips when years was 2009 on the sticker.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/231008372301...84.m1439.l2649
Most low bin gskill are bad clockers, but as splave said, sometimes on early batches of 1600 c7 GBRM acceptable ICs are used. I had a kit with xdx psc that did quite good and now have an early psc kit that is doing very well, but has uneven sticks, while one stick easily does 7/8-11-8 1250 at 1,68v and also does 1300 8-12-8 tight on air, the second one only does 1250 7-11-9 at 1,72 and 1300 is also only possible at trp9 - because of the bin, the higher you go, the more likely it is to encounter trp weaknesses or problems. Most of these will fail 1200+ though, so this is always risky purchase. The PIS at your link are most likely to be real bad

Some new Micron IC we don't know about? I wonder what could be under the hood on those things.

I would be inclined to think just a batch of better binned stuff, as opposed to new Micron IC. There were guys that would get good results with some of the Ballistix, but it was hit or miss due to no real binning by Crucial. Perhaps Corsair got a batch and binned them to see what they could find?
Nothing to base that off, other than my personal belief.

As websmile pointed out, Corsair uses the "verx.xx" to identify the IC manufacturer. Below is a link to the list posted in the Corsair Support forum.
http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showthread.php?t=68811
Using the info on that list you can look at some of your 4GB modules and if you see a "ver5.12", the "5" denotes Hynix, the next "1" denotes a 2Gbit IC (size = 256Mx2) and the third digit, the "2" is used to distinguish between the various ICs. It is known from pics of modules with the spreaders removed that "ver5.11" indicates Hynix BFR, while "ver5.12" indicates the use of Hynix CFR.
A module with "ver5.29" would be Hynix (the "5"), but the "2" second digit would indicate a 4Gbit IC (size = 512Mx8), which would point to Hynix MFR.
Other well-known versions include "ver2.1" for Elpida Hyper and "ver2.2" for other Elpida (BBSE). Note there is no second digit to the right of the decimal for both of these which denotes a 1Gbit IC (size = 128Mx8 for used in a double-sided 2GB module) and "ver4.13" (Samsung HCH9).
