    JK! As always, thanks for finding all these auctions for us, Sam

    EDIT: the G.Skill PSC I picked up is doing fairly nice 3DMark at 1325MHz 8-12-8, 1.85v I know, not stellar, but this is the first time i've broken 1300 with PSC

    @Sam,

    Just a quick question...those Kingston modules are rated for 1.7v-1.9v, so aren't they more likely to be based on a Micron variant, or perhaps Samsung HCF0, instead of BDBG?

    It is so funny(got myself Interested in Ram/IC at about when Elpida H. was EOL),I remember the time when most(I guess) of the people was yelling about those odd/unusual Timings of PSC "Uh ,DDR3-2400 C9-11-9 ",something like (a little bit) MFR today(sure fun for some [myself included] Suicides/Max Clock/and surely WR),nowadays Ram-Enthusiasts are lickin their fingers.....

    Please clue me in on that...I know about the IC code that Kingston puts on the outer box (the package label), but didn't know that they also identify the ICs on the module's label. That would be extremely useful info to have.

    You cannot identify the IC exactly, I think this doesn?t even work with gskill on most sticks. I am not deep into Kingston as 99,5% of their so-called OC-mems are crap, but on label you can see at end of the letter code which IC-manufacturer is used, H for hynix for example, S Samsung, K Kingston relabeled. Simple, but correct, the E stands for Elpida

    P.S. no warranty and liabilty for errors in this post

    Are you referring to the last letter in the "BSME" that is on the left edge of the label, perpendicular to the rest of the text?

    I just took a quick peek at the most readily available Kingston stick that I had near me and it has an "I" in that location...it is a generic (and naked) stick of DDR400...with Infineon ICs.

    Thanks for that info. I'm sure that I'll make good use of it.

    Can't believe that I've hung around this long and never heard about that IC code location for Kingston. I suspect that at least for the next month, if not longer, every stick of Kingston that I pick up I'll be looking for that code.

    This item is being described as a 2x4GB kit for a total of 8GB, when the part number clearly shows up as a 2x2GB part, for a total of 4GB.

    http://www.valueram.com/datasheets/khx1800c8d3k2_4g.pdf

    The bidding is up to $50 (including S/H), or so, with a couple of hours to go and I suspect that is because of the error in the description. There is going to be a disappointed buyer, unless someone is really, really looking for a 2x2GB kit of BDBG. I don't think that the Seller's disclaimer of "This set is untested and sold as is." is going to help him out too much with respect to the error in the description.
