    HardForum user Vega just achieved:
3DMark11 benchmark result of 33189 for a true 24/7 gaming system.
This is #3 worldwide, but the higher two scores are liquid-nitrogen cooled, and he says this system runs 24/7 at these specs -- one of the world's fastest true gaming rigs.

    . . . .

    . .

FOUR Titans... THREE 120Hz LightBoost monitors (for zero motion blur) in SURROUND...
Capable of Crysis 3 at 120fps@120Hz in 3-monitor surround.
The computer's radiator is the size of a small air conditione....It's bigger than the computer itself!

See Vega's HardForum thread about his quad GeForce titans and tests:
    - HardForum THREAD: Vega's Perfect Motion Clarity 2D Lightboost Titan Portrait Surround Gloss Build
(Formerly three titans, now expanded to four Titans in page 6 of this thread)

    Scales well too!
YouTube video of Crysis 3 pushing all four GPU's 80-90%..... to an astounding 100-160fps @ ultra settings @ 3340x1920 (darn near 4K!)

    BEFORE:
Vega is notable for using three Sony GDM-W900 CRT's in the past:

    AFTER:
He now uses three 120Hz LightBoost monitors. No more CRT sized bezels!
    (CRT-quality perfect-clear-motion LCD's, google "lightboost", superior to 144Hz)

    Crysis3 maxed settings, 100-160fps:

    F1 maxed settings:

He chose LightBoost instead of IPS because it has 12X clearer motion than IPS. (92% less motion blur). They are the world's clearest motion flat-panel monitors. These monitors even has 6X less motion blur than overclocked 1440p IPS (Vega owns a Catleap 2B monitor too, overclocked to 130Hz). IPS goes into a massive motion blur mess during fast panning motion, flick 180's, strafes, etc. So he prefers to play the video games on these LightBoost monitors.

For those living under a rock, you may have seen the new media coverage about LightBoost, or you can just google "LightBoost" (2D motion blur reduction; more popular than 3D Vision). The TFTCentral test of LightBoost is a good read.

They're talking about CallsignVega (XS nickname) right ? I think he had posted his 3CRT setup and all of his mods here.

Can't get above 3600MHz on a SRX, Now a SR2 with two top X5690's at close to 5GHz on top water should outdo this system

Anyone doing lightboost with a 1920x1080 panel (TN) now, that used to run 2560x1440 or 2560x1600 (30" IPS, which is what I'm on now)? For gaming exclusively as the criteria, is it worth the switch? I'm mainly worried about colors being atrocious, and whether motion blur is truly reduced to near-or-better-than CRT levels. Also, would 1x TITAN be enough to power 120fps even, at 1080p + say max settings in bf3 64-player in conjunction with a 2600K @ 4.4-4.6ghz, and other titles? Seriously considering selling my 3007wfp-hc to go lightboost + TITAN.

I'm also curious about lightboost. I won't get rid of my 30" monitors, but I wonder if it's just hype or not. I've never heard of this, but figured it's worth asking.

1 post, all that about lightboost. Can anyone say bot/troll/etc?

Motion blur is better, but still not comparable to CRT.

As to IPS's, mine isnt perfect by any stretch (LG W3000H) but I do well in trackmania.. and if you've ever played that you know what "high speed" can mean

If you care about colors it isn't worth the switch with one exception. Enabling lightboost in 2D mode locks you out most if not all OCD options and changes the tint of your screen. People have been getting around this problem but the solutions out there haven't been able to get the TN color back to what you originally calibrated to.

That one exception is if you follows Vega's guide on OCN to remove the matte coating to convert your TN into a glossy screen. This combined with Lightboost just makes a TN panel even better than IPS.

To other people who don't care about colors, switching to a TN panel for lightboost is the superior option.

For anyone who wants a more technical review of lightboost.

Yeah, I'll definitely try it *before* I do anything with my 30"... I'm sort of wondering if it's just hype like the whole 120hz craze was (relatively) on Catleaps.

Do you know who I am? Google "lightboost". I run the Blur Busters Blog, the Home of the World's Most Popular LightBoost HOWTO. See About Mark page for more info about me. I'm one of the key people in making LightBoost popular on the Internet, along with the initial "first-to-get-there" people from esreality & TechNGaming.

Sure, guilty of pumping LightBoost, but definitely no bot/troll/etc. I am here only because I noticed Final8ty (obviously not me) quoted a post I made on another forum (see my name in the original quote in the first post of this thread!). My ulterior motive is to help make an optional stroboscopic backlight a more standard/common feature in future computer monitors -- including IPS -- we need manufacturers/nVidia to acknowledge this & make stroboscopic backlights an easy-to-enable optional feature in future monitors. Even ASUS & NewEgg indirectly acknowledged on YouTube my HOWTO. Motion blur is long a problem for LCD, and not even completely solved by regular 120Hz or 144Hz (if you're sensitive to it, like I am, and people like Vega).

You have a Samsung S23A750D. Have you ever tried the Samsung Zero Motion Blur HOWTO? It works on AMD. For 7950 though, make sure you test this CRT-style tweak with a game that easily runs at >120fps (e.g. Counterstrike, etc), for full CRT-effect on your S23A750D. Unfortunately, S23A750D's stroboscopic backlight mode has too much input lag (>21ms), but the lack of motion blur is good to test out what LightBoost (less lag) looks like.

Spachala, a competition gamer on Team Exile 5 (Australia CoD champions), tested out the Samsung strobe backlight too -- his review. He also posted a YouTube. He noticed the lag, but understands the benefits of motion-blur-eliminating stroboscopic backlights.

P.S. I am here only because I noticed Final8ty quoted me in the original post.

Well yes, LightBoost is very interesting and very cool...I just paid $280 for a refurb 120 Hz monitor that is now disappointing to me considering LightBoost tech. Oh well, take all my $$$ and I still won't have the best there is to offer. Oh I see, I can modify my monitor? I will check it out but this is one monitor I do not want to break as it don't have a warranty.

Thanks for directing my attention to LightBoost, I did learn something.
So I retract my statement that this is dumb, I learned about LightBoost.

Well, I did the mod...it makes my monitor really dark though. I will see if your sight has a discussion area about this.
