    2 loops sharing rad, bad idea?

    Hey guys, I've been PMing Nickel020 quite a bit, he has helped me out a lot..... So lets make my final edition open, and voice your opinion, if I should do it different

    Loop1: 1x CPU block + 1x DDC-1T 18W w. XSPC plexi top (or EK DCP 4.0 w. res)
    Loop2: 1-4x GPU blocks in seriel + same type of pump as loop1...
    Shared: MoRa3 LT with 9x Ultrakaze 3K RPM 120x38 fans... (obviously connected to a fancontroller)

    Idea is that I can use quick release after pumps, and again at Y-splitter for return to heater...

    Would this work well?? Idea is to have a clean desk when not needing the watercooling blocks.

    Please let me know if solution is bad.... Also please do advice me which of my pumps to use.

    Just thought I'd point out (before someone else does) that if you're sharing a rad then there aren't two loops - just one (as the water will mix in the rad).

    So long as you have enough rad area to remove the heat you are generating then you'll be fine.

    Unless those 4 GPUs are Titan's I think you'll be OK.

    Correct, it is one divided loop
    Just wondering if its much much worse than running everything seriel (2 pumps, and all blocks) splitting the pumps and blocks makes it easier to keep it 'clean' for me

    The MoRa with 3000 RPM will keep everything cool, that I do not doubt

    You should run seriel to obtain better head pressure and thus flow rates.

    Two loops, fine , but one loop with 2 pomps in serial is more safety without comprpmise cooling ability.

    The 18W is significantly more powerful than the DCP4.0, compare this pump curve of the DCP to Laing curves:

    Also, you have the DDC-1T+, right? Because that's the 18W model, the non + DDC-1T is 10W and very similar in performance to your DCP4.0.

    So if you want maximum power, the DDC-1T+ is to be preferred, though I doubt you'll notice a difference on the CPU part of the loop. But it's not always about that I know, sometimes you just want the best, even if the difference is small

    Ah ok, now I remember telling you about that... Unfortunately I was "out of the loop" for a bit and didn't realize you apparently can't mod newer pumps anymore. So do check your PCB revision before you try the mod! I think that if your pumps are from 2010 or earlier they should be fine, but later ones can have different PCBs. Supposedly some of the newer pumps (but not the most recent) can be modded to become a MCP35X as well, though I'm not sure if that actually works. I think there's a thread here on XS somewhere about that...
