Valve showed something big at GDC

    HL3??

    http://www.gamedynamo.com/article/sh...ngine_fresh_ip
What did Valve showcase at GDC 2013? Half-Life 3? Revamped Source engine? Fresh IP?

Something happened last night involving Valve... something big. A series of very interesting, very telling tweets from several different developers hints that the company has an exciting surprise in the works. Unfortunately, as to what that surprise is, mum's apparently the word.

Battlefield 3 lead designer David Goldfarb tweeted that he saw some "nice things" after a meeting with Valve.

While this was going on, Interceptor Entertainment's Dave Oshry tweeted that he'd just gotten out of a meeting with Valve "that was single-handedly worth the trip here," adding "you people are going to love me for this soon."

Whatever Valve's got in the works, it's big. Perhaps a new iteration of the Source Engine? Half-Life 3? A new IP none of us have heard about which will blow our minds when we hear about it?

    Sweet...

New engines confirmed to be in the works already though? I'd guess HL3 it's hard to believe anything else is that big.

If steam is trying to expand into linux and osx then it only makes sense that valves own games are built ontop of opengl.

I really hope it's related to a new engine, since Source, despite its flexibility, is running on fumes already.

    This.

Valve time has sucked up all of my desire for more Half Life. Gabe will have to miss out on a meal or two with my lack of purchase.

After reading that date I've just realized the 31.02.2013 was a palindrome

A few days ago a SPUF user shared this:

I didn't mind about it since rumours about HL3 come up daily. However, these new rumours about a big announcement make this list look interesting.
    More info here :
    http://forums.steampowered.com/forum....php?t=3097294

My personal take is Valve has developed a new engine and HL3 is going to be the showcase.
Why would they show HL3 to other devs? A new engine on the other hand...

Ha ha, So in other words, It's just like any other day in Valve world. We are excited to announce there is nothing to announce! The people that TAKE our money are making fun of us. More like H2KAAIS 3

Ya, I'm tired of the Highschool jokes from Valve also.
