looking for 2X4GB to run with G.Skill F3-12800CL7D-8GBH

They don't make these any more. I'm on a budget, and would like to add another 2X4GB kit. I believe that they are Hynix BFR H9C.

The F3-10666CL7D-GBRH are rumored to be the same. Can anyone confirm or deny what IC's they have, or suggest another kit that would play nice with mine?

On the ICs, the serialnumber will help you at least on the manufacturer, but Hynix BFR is no bad guess - look at the GSkill-IC thread

Thanks, but I'm already fairly certain my kit is BFR, although for fun I'll check the sn against the thread you linked. I'm trying to learn if the F3-10666CL7-8GBRH kits still for sale at various online stores are the same, but I don't have physical access to them.

Edit: Mine are confirmed Hynix, according to the thread.

I think that he was trying to tell you that not only can you confirm your current kit (which you have), but any kit that you're interested in (such as the F3-10666CL7D-GBRH) against that list in order to see what ICs are being used.

You can also look here for possible matches:

There really are a great variety of modules sporting Hynix BFR H9C and even if you were to find a 1866 CL8 kit, for example, it would most likely run just fine with your 1600 C7 set.

    Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the link, it also confirms that my sticks are BFR, and gives me a few to check out, although of course it doesn't list the 10666 kit.

I understood that he was suggesting that I use the serial number to check out the kits I may be interested in, however I can't get the serial numbers Local selection is crap, and the online stores typically won't tell me SN, saying that they ship from multiple warehouses and don't know what I would get... I went through the same deal trying to get a rev 2.0 Gigabyte 990FXa-UD7, and they couldn't tell me the rev.

Honestly, since to find new BFR at retailers you are going to have to luck out big time, I would suggest just keeping an eye out in the classifieds here on XS, or even starting a WTB thread. You are more likely to find it that way than trying to find a new retail kit. At least with a WTB you can confirm the model and serial number before buying the modules.

...and this is also something worth considering, as this way you are assured of having 4 matching modules.

I've already been trying to either buy OR sell them, but there aren't a lot of folks locally interested in quality ram (or owning it). I've thought of posting here,
but not sure how much of a pain it would be to ship internationally. Ordinarily I'd just buy a completely new kit, but money is tight so I thought I'd try to find a match for my existing pair.

    Thanks again for the suggestions.

Edit: According to a pic I pulled from an ebay post, and the ic thread that websmile posted, the 10666c7 ripjaws kit are elpida.
