Requeriments for Turbo Core 2.0 support on Bulldozer/Piledriver?

I have been during the last day or two locked on a discussion regarding what you lose by using a Bulldozer on a Motherboard with AMD 7xx or 8xx Chipset. The actual point is mostly regarding to just Turbo Core support. After googling quite a bit and checking a few Socket AM3+ Motherboard Manuals with older Chipsets, I mostly found that they DO have an option to enable Turbo Core, but no reference if it is only for Thuban but doesn't work with Bulldozer/Piledriver (That SHOULD be specified considering that if they're AM3+, they are Bulldozer era). And I didn't found neither any official info that confirm or denies that it works, so as far that I could figure out, the FX series needs only BIOS support for Turbo Core 2.0, it is independent of the Chipset and Socket (AM3 or AM3+).

So basically, can anyone with a Bulldozer or Piledriver test and post proof if Turbo Core 2.0 works on a AM3/AM3+ Motherboard with a non-AMD 9xx Chipset? You will have a lame thanks for your efforts.

I remember there were some people who tried to run BD/PD on 890 chipset with AM3 socket.

Managed to find 2 threads about it:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...-IV-890-boards
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...eleases/page54

As far as I remember from reading it, turbo does function but not properly.

Very interesing. Considering that the Crosshair IV Formula you linked is an old pre-Bulldozer Socket AM3 Motherboard and it supports Turbo Core to some degree, I think its quite safe to assume that on a proper AM3+ that was made with Bulldozer in mind it would work properly (Heck, there are even AM3+ Motherboards with the archaic GeForce 7025! And the one I checked claimed on the manual Turbo Core support). What I find hard to believe, is that considering that Bulldozer launched ONE YEAR AND HALF ago, there are some things like this one still left to figure out. I have expected that all questions would have been answered by now.

I'm still looking for a few solid proofs that I could use as fact about this.

    CPB has no chipset limitations.
Some of the older motherboards simply have too old AGESA version.
To make it work the bios needs to be recompiled with newer a AGESA version.

I would like a recompile for my CHIVF
Is this something the community can do ? Or only the manufacturer .

Without the original uncompiled, model specific bios code it is nearly impossible.
