Is it worth the upgrade from x58?

It would be even more useful if they had measured the temp around the CPU socket (mosfet area and backside of the motherboard).
No different from non-delidded Ivy.
Delidded performance and overclocking figures would be more interesting.
Massive difference in power consumption and heat dump. I would say yes.
You go from 130W CPU (like 250W overclocked) and 30W IOH (not sure about overclocked figures, around 50W?) to less than 50W CPU (and less than 100W overclocked if you don't use the IGP) with built-in IOH. So, from 300W down to 100W.

I am also facing a problem with the thermal performance of the chip. I got my hands on a LP heatsink specially designed for HSW but for some reason while benching the temps reach 90+. I am investigating as to why this is occurring i have not OCed the chip at all maybe its a ES thing but whatever it is i need to return the chip and cant risk damage.
Coming Soon
Thanks Olivon

Could be a a bad sample or maybe a bad bios but max stable around 4.5Ghz@1.425v and it runs very hot, same as Ivy.

...
Haswell is worst clocker then Ivy Bridge, hotter chip, its pure crap. BCLK straps are disabled by Intel with Locked chips, but unlocked for Unlocked chips!!!! Why?
All in the name of "good enough computing" for the masses and "power efficiency" especially for the mobile platform market. Pretty much dictated and proven by the economic rise and prominence of Apple.

I fail to see where "tock" is here? Just some minor ipc upgrade and lots of noise about avx2, and that's it. This is the lousiest release since pentium4.
Meh. I was hoping to upgrade to the 4770k but more power consumption and 5% more ipc coupled with no extra frequency headroom leaves me no choice but to pass. Even the iGPU seems slow, i was expecting it to be around 70% faster than ivy's but it seems more like 35%. I hope these benches are wrong but i doubt that.

I' still impressed with Haswell's design on paper, too bad we have very diminishing returns in legacy software. The iGPU is nice upgrade to HD4000's level but it still fails to come close to 7660D- it's 27% slower on average according to the review @ inpai.
