    According to FlanK3r's Post :

Power consumption is Increased to about 13%.

3D benchmarks (GTX680) = 0.57% (this number is strange , I was expecting number around 5% or more)

MediaCoder has high Percent ,this should be due to "Improving AVX" ?

Maybe the difference in games will be higher in lower resolutions/settings. Does MediaCoder use AVX or quicksync?

    I went http://www.mediacoderhq.com/ and here :

    Features In Brief
    • Converting between most popular audio and video formats
    • Ripping BD/DVD/VCD/CD and capturing from video cameras
    • Enhancing audio and video contents by various filters
    • The most rich set of transcoding parameters for adjusting and tuning
    • Simplified UI and special editions for mobile devices and web video
    • Multi-threaded design and parallel filtering unleashing multi-core power
    • GPU encoding acceleration (Intel MSDK/QuickSync & nVidia CUDA)

But recently it has been reported that they can not use the QuickSync

If a new core is bringing only 1-5% improvement in gaming and IPC, then AMD has got a good chance to do some catch up. Now if only their Steamroller came sooner and in 8 core versions...

We have a rumor (from AMD tech docs) that it will come as 6T APU which is not bad I guess. This 6T SR chip should be on par with 83xxx if what AMD claims for SR turns out to be true. I don't see why they couldn't make an 8T SKU for FM2 platform also, it shouldn't be that hard. They can ditch the L3 and just make much cheaper 4module SR version (28nm) which will be like half the die size of Vishera due to smaller node and lack of massive L3 on die. But knowing AMD they won't go this route as it's more expensive since it needs 2 separate dice, one for consumer market and one for server( with L3 cache as it really pays off there).

The only thing that really appeals to me with Haswell is the improvement in the platform. Finally, a decent number of SATA III ports...

you guys need to wait for release, a lot of these early es CPUs are not the same as what the retail CPU will be in many ways.

Just started building an ivy system. IMO it's a no win scenario. Your new rig is obsolete the second you boot it up. This is why I only build new rigs every 5 years or so. The performance specs look much better that way.

Is this why Microcenter is selling 3770k's for only $230? lol

Same node, higher TDP spec on paper, bigger iGPU( more power drawn), more aggressive Turbo core. All fits in with the results.

Memories of the good old athlon times with shims. Shouldn't it be way better now than one useless contact point less in the cooling chain?

Besides, are there any shims around for ivy?

Haswell have better Stand by mode = 800 Mhz with less less power consumption Versus Ivy that use 1600 Mhz in stand by mode...here the winner is Haswell, but when you come to default clocks like 3.5 Ghz...Haswell have a jump in power consumption use 83 - 84 watts TDP and this is because have "more" space used on igpu.

Haswell at the same speed that Ivy have 4/5 + degrees that Ivybridge but use less vcore.

We keep doing the IHS mod and we needing a good cooling to go overclocked

    Haswell Versus Ivybridge degrees IDLE/LOAD

Looking at these results i'm pretty sure Intel is already incredible committed(cash handouts) to an anti-opencl campaign. Kaveri will increase the gap on the GPU front and will decrease in the CPU front, if apps start to be gpu accelerates things could get ugly real fast.
