Remember when you had to run each project on your rig without using an app config or app info file BEFORE you actually could run either version of app?
Has that changed?
EDIT: remove app_config file for a while and run boinc without it until you have some of each type of work that is in your profile for the machine downloaded. Re-instate the app_config file and you should be good.
Unless things have changed it is as Mumak suggested above
