The Swiftech H220 comes in a beautiful crafted hard cardboard box with all the technical information all around the box and pictures of the H220 kit. Box feel sturdy , inside the box there is another cardboard box protecting the hardware as well as bubble wrap , protective foam and the screws in plastic bags. Overall very well packed to make sure you receive an undamage and flawless product.

Testing Methodology

Hardware used and settings:

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V Pro ( Asus Motherboard selected due to been very stable under high loads/stress and stable under high overclocks )
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K
Ram: 4x4GB G.Skill DDR3 2133 Ripjaws X
Graphics cards: MSI HD7970 Lightning / Asus HD6670
OS Drive: Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD
Power Supply: Cooler Master M2 Silent Pro 1500w.

Thermaltake Water 2.0 extreme

Open Bench Testing under temperature control environment at ~20c ambient temperature measure for consistency via UEI DT 304 DMM with a K-Type Probe attached 6 inches away from the fans intake , give or take 3c. Gelid extreme TIM was used on all the mountings of the waterblocks for consistency purposes , I used the method of one small rice size dot of TIM in the middle of the cpu on every mount the same way. A Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme was used to compare the performance of one of the top all in one liquid cooling closed loop kit on the market against the Swiftech H220.
Default settings used meaning the cpu and ram were run at the motherboard bios default setting speeds on both Kits Swiftech H220 and Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme at the time of testing. fans used on the aio kits were the ones that comes with every kit.
Overclocked settings used on the cpu were as follow , cpu 3770k at 100x46 multi 4.6Ghz 1.25v in bios LLC high , ram at DDR3-2133 9-11-10-28 1T 1.65v everything else on default bios voltages , all C-States Disabled. Prime 95 small FFTs were run for 15 minutes to load the cpu 100% , maximum average temperature was selected as reference on each run after 15 minutes prime 95 monitoring via core temp program. Two modes were tested on each aio kit on this review , silent fan mode and maximum fan mode at default cpu speeds and overclocked cpu at 4.6Ghz , Also tested was the highest stable cpu overclock attained by each aio kit.

Conclusion and Reviewer Opinion

There you have it , there is a new Sheriff in Town and is called Swiftech H220 , The Thermaltake Water 2.0 extreme gets close but cannot overtake nor take the lead against the H220 , also while running all this tests for the last 3 days I come to the conclusion that the Swiftech H220 is in a league of its own , due to the quality of built and high end components , completely silent even on Maximum Fan / Pump Mode , and the upgradability wich is truly a major game changing , the same cannot be said about the Thermaltake Water 2.0 extreme , even in silent mode is noisy and onced you set maximum Fan mode ( extreme setting in TT software ) the fan noise becomes unbearable with a deep huuummm loud sound. I give the Swiftech H220 10 out of 10 because the innovation and revolutionary way it is built to be upgradable and fully customizable all in one closed loop water cooling kit , the complete silent even while running at full speed , easy of use and maintnance free , truly plug and play. This review serves more of a guide of what you can expect of the Swiftech H220 view from an enthusiast like me point of view. Overclocker approved !

Swiftech H220 Review Part 2 , H220 Upgraded and Customized

Swiftech H220 all in one liquid cooling kit , fully upgradable and customizable.

What if there was an all in one liquid cooling kit closed loop fully upgradable that could be customized to your needs ? *The wait is over , Swiftech H220 all in one liquid cooling closed loop kit is here and this kit can do that and much more. This is what i have been working on for the last few days , installed on a i7-3770K in a loop with an MSI HD 7970 Lightning added one Swiftech MCW-82 7900 Series VGA water block to the Swiftech H220 all in one closed liquid cooling kit loop , overclocked both CPU and Video Card with added voltages , what do you guys think the outcome will be ?

Now you can add more water blocks and radiators or anything you can think of , due to the powerful water pump that is variable from 1200rpm all the way to 3000rpm 12 volts 6 watts and controllable via pwm adjustable , with high flow more components can be added , the heavy and well made big cooper 240mm Radiator can handle anything you trow at it , all of this while been completely silence. The game changer , the first all in one cooling kit that can be upgradable and fully customized , it will change the way you think about an all in one liquid cooling kit out in the market as of now. This review comes from an enthusiast point of view and I will not bored you with fancy wording and complicated colorful charts , instead I will let the numbers on the video speak for themselves , I will go down and dirty straight to test the max performance of this all in one Swiftech H220 liquid cooling kit from my entusiast point of view and after extensive testing with added water blocks. Swiftech H220 all in one liquid cooling kit installed on i7 3770k overclocked to 4.6Ghz 1.25v runiing 100% load prime 95 small FFTs 100% stable , in the same loop I added my own MSI HD Lightning 7970 overclocked to 1200/1600Mhz 1.18v using a Swiftech MCW-82 7900 water block with some added 3/8 black tubing, running GPU-Z vga stress test gpu 100% load , both pieces of hardware were running 100% load for 1 hour cooled by one H220, amazing low temperatures for such hot running hardware on one single loop H220 , it can handle that and much more ...

( *The sounds you hear on the video are coming from my big window air conditioner and not from the Swiftech H220 or the system running* the Swiftech H220 is completely silent )

4.6ghz is what I run my 3770K at and this seems to handle it pretty good. I do run a WATER2.0 on my rig which handles this just fine, but fans at max and it does make some noise, but not as bad as a Cascade LOL

I would like to get to 5.0ghz and this looks like the cooler to get, but I need a new MB as I am stil using a Z68X-UD7-B3 which just works but has issues.

So we have seen how the H220 stacks up against other sealed units. How does it stack up against a normal water cooling setup in the same price range of parts ?

Thank you guys for the good feedback and good vibes , it took me 3 to 4 days to complete all the testing done, working on it night and day until the sun comes up sometimes , due to so many mounts and re-mounts of the water blocks and I did customized the H220 adding a vga MCW-82 7900 waterblock also , long hours really to gather all this data running prime 95 over and over again and again for long hours , over 300 pictures taken , 5 videos made , and to do the write up. I'm exhausted ,I need to get some sleep and get some rest.

@Bill ( Buckeye ) - Sorry my friend I don't have water cooling set up that will match the price/performance of the Swiftech H220 on hand , hence I honestly and sincerely cannot provide a fair comparison as to how it stack up against similar priced custom water loops at that price range. Bill I am quite confident that you can get your cpu totally stable at 5.0Ghz using the Swiftech H220 , it can handle that and much more , but bare in mind your mile may vary due to the cpu and hardware used , the only way to know really is to test your hardware on the H220.

@Ron ( runmc ) , hahahaha ... you can change the fan to the ones of your like , or perhaps get creative and use some paint and change the color of the fan , just kidding , do not paint the fans ,its not recommended

@Flank3r I will try to do the test you are requesting later on tonight and will post the results for you here ,I only have one AMD cpu and mobo ( APU A6-3650 and a micro atx low end Biostar mobo that I used as a media center ) sorry I cannot test AMD for you.

Here you go Flank3r as requested 4800Mhz 1.40v H220 ran in silent mode , no sweat for the H220. Hotest core temperature recorded running for 15 minutes Prime 95 Small FFTs wich it is brutal on a cpu was 79c wich peak twice only during the entire 15 minutes run , average all cores temperatures were 75c during the complete 15 minutes Prime 95 run , CPU with 4 cores 8 treads HT On 1.40v. Check out the video i made and look closely at the temperatures recorded min/average/maximum , bare in mind nobody would run Prime 95 Small FFTs all day long , so it is safe to say for 24/7 that is as stable as it can be 4800Mhz overclock than anyone using H220 can achieve and of course with much lower temperatures for day to day 24/7 use. Also bare in mind i have added an extra Video Card waterblock to the existing H220 loop with a hot running HD7970 heat monster while running this test , cpu and gpu on the same loop of the H220 ran in silent mode , i hope this gives you an idea what kind of Performance you can expect from the Swiftech H220. Im runnig 5000Mhz overclock now 100% stable Prime95 for 20 minutes with great temperatures fans on high mode highest core peaked only onced to 81c , safe to say 5000Mhz overclock it is also possible for 24/7 use on 3770K cpu using H220 with fans and pump in maximum speed wich is absolutly silent.

wow, is it awesome. Looks like the best allinone liquid? It could be perfect for my SR FX system in 2014 . I have one custom liquid, but Im so lazy to change it every 1/2-1 year with upgrade CPU (x6 1090T/x6 1100T/FX-8150/FX-8350/FX-83xx etc). So now I use H100, but this seems better and more quiet.

Im sorry , little mistake I made due to exhaustion of too many hours working on that review , those max 80c is with an MSI Lightning HD7970 added to the same loop and not the cpu only temperatures , got it fix for you , I hope you guys understand better the kind of cooling power this all in one closed water loop kit has even with an added VGA water block and a HD7970 when compared to a single cpu cooled cpu by a Thermaltake water 2.0 extreme.

@ xarot , Hi , I have no issues with the pump at all , in fact it is in use 24/7 , I do not turn off or shut down my pc for weeks. My Swiftech H220 still working flawlessly as day one , and that is with my MSI HD7970 Lightning in the same loop as my core i7 3770 overclocked at 4.6Ghz. If you have problems with the pump please contact Swiftech , they have awesome customer support and I am sure they will take care of you.

There's a guy who replaced them with Noctua fans, I think NF-P12's?, and got a reduction in the decibles emanating from the radiator, as well as a dip in temps.

What is the tube size to the gpu waterblock? It looks bigger. Do you have to change the fitting for that?

I have the H220 and was wondering if this system was more than enough to cool my Haswell 4770 and GTX 780 when they are both overclocked.

Hi Rob94hawk , The tubing Dimensions 5/8" x 3/8 , the same tube dimension that comes with the kit , you can buy a few feet of tubing online in order to install additional Blocks or Rads , in the picture due to the angle of the camera it made it look bigger but is not , it is 5/8" x 3/8 black tubing. No you don't have to change the fittings for 5/8" x 3/8 tubing , I have rigorously tested and still running my H220 with the HD7970 Lightning since I made that review 24/7 pc without problems. Haswell is a heat monster after 1.30v for v.core so take that into account , I would test with the stock Radiator first add the GPU block and test , if if gets too warm for you I suggest installing another Radiator to the loop.
