that is also a very poor quality drive with cheap nand+sandforce. you are much better off with a samsung 840 at the $90 price point if you want a low life drive.

From what I understand the NAND is the latest Toshiba 19nm toggle NAND. Yes its not the brand spanking newest controller. But this isn't a high performance drive, but rather a high value/price drive. You aren't paying through the nose for the latest Samsung 840 Pro. Also, these reviews seem to think its a pretty good drive for the price:

it is a 3k write lifetime nand part, the samsung 840 non pro is a faster 4k life time part and the same price without the bag discount.

Based on where "storage" is located in the exclusions/not valid list, its not clear whether they mean hard drives or not. Also, last weeks 20% Eco coupon didn't mention storage at all nor hard drives.

Also, I've talked to people who've tested 840 vs. 840 Pro and were only impressed with the Pro.

Again this is a value deal, not some premium SSD deal. Also, I haven't seen much if any deals on 840's whether they be non or Pro models. If you know of a 120Gb Samsung 840 for $70 without a rebate, why don't you post it?

it was $90 on newegg for almost a month ($105 now). i would have posted $70, but 90 seamed like the normal price.

i have the non pro 240 and it is nice, i wanted a pro but the 128 never went on sale and i got the 240 for $160 affter rebate, then $130 after a paypal price match for $30 when it went on sale with no rebate, then i sold the copy of farcry 3 for $25 so it ended up being and awesome deal of $105. but the 240 non pro is about the same performance maybe a little better of the m4 120GB that i got my dad last year in read, but the write is a little slow.
