EK first with GeForce GTX Titan Full-Cover water block

With the move back to "no circles" and "no frosted plexiglass", I may begin to buy from EK again. Looks like they are finally listening to their customers or at least offering the basic design for those of us with simpler tastes.

I would have already bought the EK titan waterblock, but Im still waiting on the back plate to become available in US...though other manufacturers dont even have a waterblock available yet..excluding paper launches.

Yeah EK were the first by far but aquacomputer's should be ready tomorrow, not sure about their backplates though. Alphacool, Koolance, Swiftech and XSPC are still a few weeks out. Waiting to hear back from the others.

Swiftech Im pretty sure will sell their hydrocopper gtx titan blocks only via evga, and EVGA does not have an ETA yet on the hydrocopper titan or on just waterblock separately, I spoke to them on phone yesterday. EVGA is just selling air cooled titans for now, I bought my sc one their. That being said, the hold up may well be on EVGA's end.

I know many don't like the plain look but I got mine today and they look sexy imo. Will be installing them tonight after kiddies go to bed.

This. I was told two weeks on evga's hydrocopper blocks. Also liquid extasy will most likely give you a free block if you're willing to loan them a card.

Anyway back to EK, I imagine the backplates and bridges won't be long now.

You don't need a EK bridge with these cards. They take direct G1/4 SLI connectors. Unless you just want it for the look?

I used a d-plug for like 2 years so I don't mind that much but for 1k each I figured I'd shell out for the fancy bridge :p

Lol poor EK, they try and do a cool design and get busted for it, then they give a simple design because people complain about circles and still people aren't happy

Yeah need and want are different

I much prefer bridges over sli connectors given a choice, not just for looks but I trust them more and they give more rigidity to the cards as well.

The acetal & copper block is a good design thermally, its resulting in very nice temps. Visually its plain but maybe I'm just going through a minimalist phase but I like it. Matches my acetal + copper EK HF cpu block also. I had aqucomputer blocks on my lightnings but they were pretty 'bling'.

The stock cooler struggles to control the card temps, especially in warm weather even at stock clocks/stock volts. It can look as beautiful as it likes, it doesn't work very well lol

What about Watercool? Are they going to release an Heatkiller fullcover gpu block for the GTX Titan? I like Watercool design, especially Ni-Bl "hole edition"

They had a cool design (back around the HD58xx series, rember those blocks?), but then they got greedy and thought they could sell blocks that are a lot cheaper to make for the same price.

So they changed it to rectangular plexi blocks on top of some poorly milled copper with some low quality nickel plating. Everyone who has ever worked in mechanical engineering or even manufacturing of some sort can see how much simpler in terms of production their blocks got.

remember the nickel plating issues? back when EK said "oh 4?m thickness is totally enough for years of use".

How goes that saying? fool me once shame on you. fool me twice shame on me?

If you want quality, dont buy EK. There are tons of options. Unfortunately, DD is gone.

I've always used EK for my blocks, and recently had problems, however I'm still going to use them going forward. They did right by IMO for what I had to deal with.
That's my opinion though.

Anyway, I've got my Titan blocks in and am looking forward to testing them out this weekend.

I like the aesthetics of the EK titan waterblock, especially installed with backplate, since it is what is seen, and to me what makes or breaks the aesthetics.

I'm a big fan of copper blocks with a plexi top. I love my Titan block. It looks great imo.

Edit: It looks like performance pc has backplates in stock.
