    [Resolved] USB 1.1 and/or USB 3.0

My HD has a USB 3.0 port. My new DVR has a USB 1.1 port or at least that is what it says at the access port.
Can a USB 3.0 device communicate with a USB 1.1 port or do I need to try to find a HD with a 1.1 USB port?

    Thanks for your expertise.

USB 1.1 = Extreme NOT storage.

USB 3.0 is backwards compatible with older and ancient USB.
USB 1 is from the First age, Balrogs used to use this

Is a nominal 1.5MB/sec even enough to properly stream HD video? Seems strange that a "new" DVR would be using that ancient spec.

The operative word there is "new". While the install was new, the installed equipment was not.
However, I have resolved this issue. I returned the equipment to Comcast and received a "NEW" DVR.
It does not indicate a 1.1 USB.
