    Hmmm... A $50,000 power cord?
When you say you got it cheap, I hope your not talking in the 3 figure range (engraved or not!)...

I'm not an electronics expert, but a couple quotes come to mind!

"A fool and his money are soon parted" - Thomas Tusser
"There's a sucker born every minute" - (attributed to) P.T Barnum

The fact that you make this sound like an option leads me to believe that even after you install it your opinions can't be trusted because you'll try to justify spending the money...

There have been done quite a few tests over the years to disprove expensive Hi-Fi equipment, with success. In blind tests where the element of being able to hear which of the setups are "superior" are removed, so it's simply "What do you think sounds better?" then the whole thing takes a deep plunge into personal preference where it's supposed to be. Because there is no doubt that there are nuances of sound from similar products from different manufactures.

However this specific power madness is just out of control and even though they supply a very good looking paper that explains what is going on in their minds, we could simply measure this effect before and after in a controlled environment, and set the limits just beyond what a human with very good hearing is able to perceive. Thing is that the problem arises quite abruptly by the very probable outcome of being no difference...

The best and often cheapest upgrade within Hi-Fi today is room acoustics and speaker placement. And it's the most over looked as well, people like shiny nice things like the good primates we are.

It's in the 4 figure range. The engraving was free! It wasn't much of work for him at all.

I will make honest opinion after careful audition. This will also take time as the settling in takes time too. In the first stage I will make first impression about the product by listening to music. I will also be taking pics and video. If it turns out the sound has not improved at the end, oh well, lots of money out the window. If it improves, well, glad I took chance. This is tough for most people because they don't want to dish out large sum of money on something they haven't tried before or not knowing anything about the product. It's a gamble. I know that.

Thank you for the essay. I like it.

I am the room treatment. Move over closer to the speakers.

That's not nice you report my thread in addition to personal attack. I am not trolling and I am not a troll. I bought the cable and is coming on its way. This power cable is definitely in the extreme, and I posted in the xtremesystems forum. What are you so upset about? If you don't like it, get off the thread. There are plenty other threads out there that may interest you, Stangman.

And what? Trolls posts forums over the years?? Are you referring to me? What did I do in the past in xtremesystems forum? Did you check my history? What in the hell?

Yes, I looked at your past posts to see what kind of mindset we here at XS are dealing with. And looking over some of your posts/threads/questions over the years, my instincts seem to be spot on. Either your are a troll, a very young boy (9-10 yrs old), or you just have "bad luck when it comes to thinking".

I'm out, ignore buttion processed, thread unsubscribed, and hoping my wish of you no longer being part of XS comes true!

Something is seriously wrong with your post. You know why? I don't think you really dug all my previous posts, from the start date of my first posting and the current date. Have moderators pull ALL of my posts and you will see exactly what I posted. I mostly was in the discussion of overclocking / phase-change cooling CPUs, video cards, benchmarks, video games, screenshots of video games, plasma TVs, and cars! How in the world is this considered trolling??:?? Huh??? I just recently got into cables, power cable specifically. I wanted to post it because I am serious in this project, and I CLEARLY said I am taking risk on this cable as a lot of money is paid and I have not tried high end power cables before. I am making honest posts here. And you say I'm a troll? And that I'm a very young boy?? 9-10 years old? You personally attacked me twice, first you called me "Stupid" and second, you called me a very young boy (9-10 year old).

I'm out, ignore buttion processed, thread unsubscribed, and hoping my wish of you no longer being part of XS comes true!
Now this sentence definitely falls under trolling. Like I said, you don't like it, get off the thread.

I must say I have to disagree with bluestang, you seem like decent guy. However you must understand that electronic products that most people agree with that come under the "snake oil" category, does not induce enthusiastic comments on a forum where you will find quite a lot of electrical engineers or hobbyist within the same field.

If i lived in the same country as you and not too many states away I would actually go out of my way to replicate this product, use Furutek contacts and similar gauge copper. The individual components are fairly cheap, apart from the Furutek stuff.
Which hopefully would convince you why our statements are as they are. =)

OP is a troll. For instance:

This kind of plugs are used in outside-setups. Like... in a yacht club. The copper inside is protected when plugged, and they are designed for high-current situations... yet the cable they use for normal operation is like... 10 times thinner. There is no point in using this sort of plugs inside because they are designed specifically to have rain and snow and wind all over them all the time and not cause problems but, at the same time, they are very very bulky...

Also, don't feed the troll, please. Not that it couldn't be possible to make a $50k wire... simply look at the stupid end it has, which is unusable and you will see that this is a joke... that some people even believed.
