cpu vid is 1.3625v on this fx-8350, the cpu vid on my old fx-8120 was 1.3v lol
still testing but power consumption has gone down alot from my old 8120 when fully loaded 100% by about 60-70w
this thing needs alot of volts to get stable.

My 1249PGT has 1.35V cpu vid. Definately needs lots of volts to get stable. Undecided which chip to keep now. The 1244PGT has 1.325V cpu vid and needs slightly less volts.
How does your chip clock?

Im on air cooling. Nzxt havic 140 cooler push/pull
Im having trouble getting stable past 4.8 ghz so far :/
Its cooler than my 8120 so I dunno wuts up. Im gonna have to bring it outside
Cpu vid seems offly high at 1.3625v
More testing to come. Im not a pro really at any of this stuff lol I try though

Yesterday me and my friend Pete aka ExpatGriZ benched the 1249 chip under LN2. We benched the chip in a Crosshair V Formula board i bought specifically for this type of benching so i can leave the CVF-Z in my case.
We used the massive Otti pot that holds the load extremely well, base temp hardly went up a degree whilst running such demanding benches like Cinebench and Wprime.
Equipment used:
Asus Crosshair V Formula bios 1703
AMD FX-8350 1249PGT
2x4GB G.Skill Trident-X 2600 C10
Corsair powersupply
Gigabyte 6200 graphics card
Otti pot
Here's a pic of the set up, taken with my iPhone so quality is not fantastic:
We booted into the OS at 6G all time which was very nice actually. First bench i wanted to run was the notorious Cinebench 11.5 of course but it wasn't as easy as i initially thought it would be. Picking the right multi seemed vital, it wasn't as easy as simply ramping up the multi and volts and run the bench. Wrong multi and the system froze, even at much lower frequencies.
Without furter ado, here's the very best we could wrench out the chip:
I was hoping the chip would do this bench at 7G but after running CB 10 a couple of times i realized how hard CB 11.5 really is.
Speaking of CB 10, here's what we got:
After that we played around some with Wprime, not really my type of bench but it's multithreaded so we gave it a spin:
The score is bad due to the wrong OS (Win 7 64bit), had we run it under Win XP, the score would have been a lot better. Oh well..
To end off the session we switched off 6 cores and tried for the mandatory validation:

Not really impressive but you can't expect too much from a crappy chip.
It was fun having benched GayMD as we called it, under LN2. Hopefully we can do it another time with a better high leakage chip.
Again, a big thank you to Pete for providing all the stuff needed plus the drinks and snacks!

add voltage, in OS jump to 2-2.1V for validation. And try different cores. I believe, you get near 8 GHz after.

I just swiched off cores in bios and raised cpu speed with TurboEVO, not the way to go i guess. PSCheck is better? This was 1.95V, i didn't have the balls to go higher.

PS check is good for validation. Dont worry, 2.05V is OK with FX in idle, I benchmarked many hours with this voltage (or better say validated). The best I had core 2+3.

Nice. You should learn how to use PSCheck and also test which module is best. On my chip first module (which can't be switched off) is the worst and I'm talking about 300MHz difference.
You might be able to reach 8GHz, but the chip doesn't look too good.

Thank you guys.
L0ud, i have a 1244PGT here too that does pretty similar on water to the one i put on cold. I don't expect much more from that one then i got from this chip. Weeknumbers mean nothing for these chips it seems.
Daniel, i might submit that validation at the bot even though i'm not getting very excited over just validation tbh. I did submit the Cinebench and Wprime scores though.
Ivan, i have played around some with PS Check but i couldn't get it to raise the volts even tough i changed it in PState Configuration, frequency did go up though. I thought it was unsafe to raise any other cores than just 0 and 1 with PS Check?
But as i said, i don't care much for validation and chances i will be benching this same chip under LN2 again are very slim but maybe if i can get my hands on a better one i might just try.
I will look into PS Check some more.

its easy man, voltage set in AI SUite (dont worry about 2.05V). After close AI Suite, open PScheck and play with it. As Infra said, there is 300-400 MHz between modules. U must to find the best one.

Hey Eugene ...thanks for coming down and letting me see the "dark side".
Have to admit ....the socket is far superior to Intel and booting @ -187 is cool. Everytime ....all day.
After getting all these tips you might have to do another run south.
Bring a high leaker with yah .......
