    werdwerdus and 660 ti's

just wondering what all your 660s are running at for clocks i see you have xp installed on all 3 of those systems and im wondering if thats the big difference or you know stuff i dont

my card is crunching at 1319/6850 and is doing on avg just under 15k/hour while yours seem to do just over 15k to 15.5k/hour we both do long runs only etc.

    These numbers mine
Measured floating point speed 4824.18 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 16830.31 million ops/sec

    yours

Measured floating point speed 3733.75 million ops/sec
Measured integer speed 12514.87 million ops/sec

not sure what exactly those numbers mean or what effects them but i would think my card would be faster.

anyway thanks in adv for any input just trying to get the most out of my system.

2nd rig: core clocks of 1163 and 1215, quad core with HT off and only 2 gpu taks running leaving 2 free CPU cores (trying to lower heat output from power-hungry i7-920 cpu), gpu usage usually 98-99% on both cards
3rd rig: both core clocks are 1202, quad core with no HT, 2 gpu tasks and 2 cpu tasks, gpu usage usually 98-99% on both cards
4th rig: core clocks of 1189 and 1176, quad core with no HT, 2 gpu tasks and 2 cpu tasks, gpu usage usually 98-99% on both cards

not sure what the difference is between xp and windows 7, my only windows 7 rig on gpugrid is my main pc and that has only the gtx 470 cards so can't make any comparison! I would switch them around but the gtx 470 cards are full-covered in waterblocks.

I just received my i7-3770k from the cyber monday deal, so I will probably try matching the highest boost clocking 660 Ti cards to that cpu. I will replace the cpu in my 6th rig and that motherboard has 3x pci-e x8 slots so I will see if 3x 660 Ti cards will work well there. It won't probably be for another week or 2 until I get everything moved around. I will be moving the GTX 650 to the 2nd rig to relieve some of the heat (8 hard drives and i7-920 cpu make a nice space heater!) and possibly removing the other 660 Ti from that rig also (to place in the i7-3770k rig).

edit: the the benchmark results are only the CPU results from BOINC so not much effect on GPUGrid, but your OCed cpu is obviously better
    Main: i7-930 @ 2.8GHz HT on; 1x GIGABYTE GTX 660 Ti OC 100% GPUGrid
    2nd: i7-920 @ 2.66GHz HT off; 1x EVGA GTX 650 Ti SSC 100% GPUGrid
    3rd: i7-3770k @ 3.6GHz HT on, 3 threads GPUGrid CPU; 2x GIGABYTE GTX 660 Ti OC 100% GPUGrid
    Part-time: FX-4100 @ 3.6GHz, 2 threads GPUGrid CPU; 1x EVGA GTX 650 100% GPUGrid

Hmmm thanks for the detailed reply i look forward to your results after you move stuff around. i guess ill wait for my numbers to stabilize and then go from there it just seems that with the crazy overclocks id be getting a bit more from my cards but it is what it is

why do you turn HT off?

i guess ive also been using my computer alot the last few days while its crunching (watching hulu and such) its not much but im sure it hurts it a little bit.

My GPU utilization for NATHANS is always 98-99% but some of the other long run WU really suck i have a TONY_agg right now that only running 70-80% sometimes even lower....

got the i7-3770k installed. set it to 3.7ghz (using the stock cooler). for now just the GTX 650 in there I will work on it more over the next 3-4 days. For now running 7 WCG tasks and 1 GPUGrid task.

HT off = less heat on those old i7 cpus. Also it is reported to increase output of GPUGrid but I haven't really tested it. May not apply anymore since SWAN_SYNC is no longer needed. The i3-530 was freezing the system with win7 and HT on so I just turned it off and no freezing now.
