Guys I noticed the 256gb models has a cache of 512MB Samsung LPDDR2 SDRAM and the 128gb or lower has 256MB Samsung LPDDR2 SDRAM would this make a huge difference in performance in a raid 0?

That is page table cache and not user data cache. The larger drives need to map more data points.
Just now had my first peek at the 840 Pro 128GB price....youch! Damn near $200 at NewEgg. The 256gb pro is only ~$75 more. Looks like I'll be waiting (and hoping) for a xmas price war between the 840 Pros and the Vectors. Also wish SuperSSpeed would get with the program and list the 64GB SLCs and maybe come down a bit on the 128GB SLCs. Good chance I won't be pulling the trigger on a pair of drives for raid0 til after xmas...halfway tempted to just say the hell with it and get another 520 for $120.

I think 840 Pro is the way to go. I saw earlier 128GB Pro was listed for $139 @ Gadgetar. It looks close to Black friday price. I might buy one!
Dell Ultra Sharp 24" LCD
Core i7 920 @ 4GHZ
Gigabyte EX58-UD5
2 GIG Wintec AMPX DDR3 @ 1600mhz
ATI 4850 512MB
Sweiftech Dual MCR320 Radiators
Dtek Fuzion + MCW60 + MCW30 blocks.
ATI 650 Pro HDTV Wonder

Thermaltake Armor LCS
It's gonna be 'no easy task' deciding when to pull the trigger and on what. This is crucial to my 'best bang for the buck' prime directive of sorts. Grrr...
Only thing that is for sure is that it'll be 2 x 120/128 (or 2 x 64 with SLC). Gotta wait it out a bit if I want to make a 'no regrets' choice as with my other components.
btw...lurve that case annaconda...and the cooling you have set up ofc.

The 840 non-pro is at 99$ today at newegg.ca with promo code CEMCXWTX74
Is there a huge difference between the pro and non pro variants?
Yeap,especially at 128 gb variants....
Got my 2 Samsung 840 Pro drives today and running them in Windows 8 RAID-0 setup on a Z68 Motherboard with modded OROM 11.6.0.1702 and IRST 11.7.0.1013. I would upload my test pics but forum keeps telling me that they are not a valid image file.
Reduce image size or analysis and retry. If it doesn't work, use an image hosting service.
Picked up 2 pro 256 using the Asus Fomula V board. Just wondering if everyone is using the onboard raid or shooting for a raid card.
nice dja2k. Anything I should know about when setting up the raid configuration ?
Well I haven't been able to update the firmware on these since I have it on Raid0 and don't want to break the Raid just to do a 30 second flash on each which would require a Windows install on single drive.
Don't forget to Enable Write Back Cashe on the IRST Software and Turn Off Windows write-cashe buffer under Device Manager on your Raid Drive. I also ran the Disk Optimizer on Windows 8 before I did the testing. Also if you haven't done so, try to look if there is a modded OROM bios for your board to enable TRIM.
Other than the weird spikes on two of the Tests, that's about I have to say, hope that helps.

I really like the 840 pro series, been running one in my work laptop for a couple months now and just finished upgrading my wifes computer to one today. =p
Although on my personal PC I have been running 4x OCZ 80gb Vertex 2's in R0 for quite a while now. Thinking it might be time to upgrade. =p
Note that rated read/write speeds are different for the 128gb / 256gb samsung models.
128gb is rated to 530/390 read/write, 97k read ops, 90k write ops.
256gb is rated to 540/520 read/write 100k read ops, 90k write ops.
Bench from my ocz raid array.
