    [Case Mod] Li^2 By St0ned

Hello everyone! I'm here to present a new case mod I'll be doing. This contest came at the right time for me, I was looking around for fully black 100% Aluminium cases when I happen to see it.

The PC-7HX fit all the things I was looking for and the plus side was it was Lian-Li case, all my cases are Lian-Li at the moment and I intend to keep it that way. I've my V2000 project almost finished ( just needs to be wired up ) therefore I'll be moving on to the 7HX as soon as the cases arrive, note the "s".

    Sponsors:

    Hardware:

    Motherboard: ASUS Maximus V Gene
    CPU: Intel i7 3770k
    RAM: Still to be decided
    PSU: Still to be decided
    GPU: 2x HD7970

    Cooling:

Still to be decided. Looking for at least dual-pump a 4x360mm rads.

    Gratitude to the following supporters:
    - Dave, my best and the hands behind some costum parts I'll be doing and using on this mod.
    - Arkangel, a fellow modder and a friend who will be doing some design work and helping me with some ideas.

To start I'll explain my general ideas, I intend to use a custom top and bottom for the case made out of black matte acrylic. The case on the left will be used for the hardware whilst the one on the right will store only cooling equipment.

I'll just leave some renders to give a general idea, once the hardware arrives I'll be taking "real" pictures !

Thanks mate good luck for you project too !

Well it isn't that big, ~420x473x490 but overall having twice the width will help me storing even better goodies inside !

Both my cases just arrived from the Netherlands, I'll have pictures by the end of the week, sadly I can't do it sooner since I sold some of my photographic gear and the replacement didn't arrived yet.

Well Superflower is the OEM for this PSUs so... th NZXT might be this one rebranded

    EDIT:

I checked the web, nothing to do with NZXT here, for starters this one is Plat vs Gold on the NZXT. The interior also looks different. Maybe it's a rebrand from the golden green 1000W

Today it was time I got some work done... As far as I'm concerned I'm pleased with the way it went !

    Ready to start

    .

    Read to kill !

    Starting to disassemble

An unexpected thing... I'll have to think of something to mask this off...

    Removing the MB tray

    And then... Lian-li 1 - 0 Drill bit...

Don't forget the original look !

    Moving forward...

Time to start making some cuts...

And the final look! I want to keep it as OEM as possible

Time to make a anodized aluminium sheet out of one of the side panels!

Removing the back side of the case !

    Perfect !

If you want to follow the project in motion, we are at youtube with some videos! See our worklog below:

    Hey Miguel,

I was looking at the waterloop of your case. And I cant see how it works. If I need to follow the loop starting from the reservoir your loop looks like followed. Res, Mosfet, GPU, GPU, CPU, Pump, Pump, Rad and then its stops there is no connection between the radiator in the back and the 2 in the front of the case. I also cant spot any other connection on the reservoir. So how does the water come back in the reservoir ?

First I thought It would come from the fillport on top of the bay res but the opening is to close to the front and with the lamptrom fan controller in the way is it not possible.

Also in every loop U need to place Reservoir first and then the pumps the rest wont matter. Else U cant fill up the loop.

Feel free to post some close ups from the loop. I could be wrong.

It's the indigo xtreme Tim. It has a blue plastic around the CPU part. I am on an iPad so it's difficult for me to post photos, but they are easy to find on google.

EDIT: I just went to Lian-Li Facebook and saw all the comments, now I understand the tone of both the previous posts. Therefore I'll just keep quiete until the end of the contest.
