35mm - Push / Stand Processing ????
Hello everyone.
I need to ask some of the film/former film gurus here for some advice.
I'm going to shoot a roll of B&W Arista EDU Ultra ISO 400 which is re-branded Foma 400 at 800 or 1600 ISO and I'm looking to push/stand process it with Arista developer which is supposed to be mixed to 1:9 for normal working strength.
Normal development times at 1:9 strength are about 6-7 minutes @ 20c for Tri-X 400 and Foma 400...
I wish I had Tri-X available, we used to have it and personally I like it better, but this is all I've got.
The developer says "suitable for push processing" but it is an off brand developer. This developer is reuseable too, but I'll be mixing fresh for my stuff.
I was thinking - if I was going to push 2 stops I'd add about 5 minutes to normal? ...so like 12-13 minutes if I shoot at 1600?
If I dilute the developer and stand process, shouldn't times scale linearly?
The developer has estimated times for 1:19 as well...but I'm looking at more like 1:50.

Haha okay Thanks Mescalamba.
That's what I thought would happen, since this this forum is so slow.
I just bought a near mint Canon AE-1 and Sears 28mm f/2.8 lens for $50, hope to have some fun with it in a few weeks.

Nice camera. Canon FD lens include some very good ones, few are on par with today L lens. Hope you will find your answer there. And you can even post results there (Alternative gear part of FM) into film thread. Im on FM for quite a long time, very good forum, at least that Alternative part. Tho can be bit expensive.
