I can't see any reason it wouldn't work, but it won't hurt to try it. I'm surprised you're having issues clocking 2600+ on the Mpower, has to be CPU IMC.

Stable 2666mhz with CL 10-12-12-31 2T with 1.7v on DRAM and 1.25v on I/O voltage.

    http://valid.canardpc.com/2587083

Only thing I have tweaked is the first 4 timings, command rate, DRam voltage and I/O voltage.

I tired at 1.21v and it wouldn't post. Bumped it up to 1.25v and its stable. I will see if I can bump it down any more.

    2400mhz 9-11-11-28 1T @1.7v dram, 1.21v IO seems seems faster. Faster latency.

    Under the hood:

Looks like HYK0 is getting more popular with the enthusiast kits.

That's a stick from your GSkill Trident X quad kit with the HYK0? Wonder if Corsair is going to/has started using them.

I noticed that your 4x4GB kit has a 2500 series serial number like my 2x4GB 2666C10 kit which also has a 2500 series where as SonDa's 2x4GB kit is a 1500 series with HCH9.

I noticed that 1500 vs 2500 difference myself after seeing his pics and comparing labels and was wondering if the fifth digit of the serial # was being used by GSkill to distinguish between the type of Samsung chip being used (with the 6-8th identifying the manufacturer). But then I thought about the fact that some of the Trident X 2400 CL10 "1500" were single-sided and some were double-sided and using different density ICs. Maybe density doesn't matter and only type of IC is used to differentiate.

...or maybe they are just getting a good laugh out of all of this and continuing to mess with our heads???

lol...there's no tellin'. It'd be nice if a GSkill rep would chime in...but that'd ruin all their fun.

In post #24 of this thread, ihog6hog posted a pic of a 2666 C10 kit with HYK0...and also with the "2500" series number.

This kit is standard Dual Sided, right ? Or one may bump onto a Single Sided 2400-C9 Trident X kit ?

Those single-sided Trident X kits were C10, not these newer C9 kits.

Pretty good results from that 2400 C9 kit.

I'm curious, do those have the "1500", or the "2500" for the 5th thru 8th digits of the S/N?

I just got another 8GB kit. This time batch number is 13021500 built in January 2013. Haven't looked at the IC yet but these are also double sided. At 2400mhz xmp settings they work well. Hope hey have the Samsung HCH9 IC.
